really just depends on price!

340 USD isn't bad at all, I just have to wonder, with a price like that you're probably just getting what you pay for...

Resolution? Does it mean 300,000 pixels? If so, then thats only like 640x480, which is a wee bit crap.

It's not expensive (compared with other projectors i've seen that connects to PC's)...
but i really don't understand what High resolution <300000> means???..
can anyone explain ?

It is a good price for what you are getting up front, but an item to consider will be price for a replacement lamp bulb. Depending on how mauch you use this projector that may be a big part of "is it worth it?".

640 * 480 = 307200

Looks like a decent guess at the res. Not exactly HD but would do the job for last gen consoles.. (and the Wii)

Right usually i dont moan about news when it comes to gaming but 2day i think i have to sorry...

...This is not PSP Related, it does not work with the PSP so why put it here???

But to answer what I think about this projector, How many of these are actually already in the world...these have been around for years so whats so special about this...

The toshiba projector that The_Ultimate_Eggman says he has is totally amazing and I want to steal his house :)

But imagine if the PSP has a projector module haha that would be ace...

Hmmm, and JUST when I was looking to buy a projector the news here comes along. Then again, I am a bit cautious when it comes to shopping, I don't want something that will break down on me before at least a year. The price seems reasonable from what I have looked at, but here's the thing, why spend 340 to get a bulk, ugly ass low quality projector which will probably die on you the first couple months, when you can put, say 300 more and get something decent.

Does it support gun-type controllers? Then it sucks, because it won't work with Wii.

Totally pointless, but this COULD technically on the PSP, in contrast to what someone said. You can buy an A/V out kit for the PSP (either the mirror/lense system or the one that mods straight to the mobo) and could hook it up to the projector. It'd look ugly and horrible as all hell.. but hey, it'd work. =p

future of portable gaming, mirco projectors that allow you to project anywhere. imagine playing tetris on top of the head of the bus passenger infront of you!

Naw naw, imagine this. A black I'd say around 5 inches in diameter dark round ball.

You press a button on top of it, A piece of it pops out being a ring, you put the dark ring on your finger and laser projects from it being the mouse.

The moment the ring mouse laser is active, boom the ball raises mechanical arms and projects a laser keyboard in front of you, a part on top spins and projects the monitor on the flat surface below it.

A portable computer with laser mouse, projector monitor, and laser ring mouse all curls up in a ball when done.

Now that would be sexy.

And all of those technologies we have already created, just never put together. Somebody rich steal my idea damnit! I'd buy it! :D

Ring mouse I guess isn't invented yet, but it should, the mouse pad would be a project on like the laser keyboard, and that's how you'd set the borders and clicking.

With HD gaming just around the corner (except the WII), I wouldn't settle for a 640x480 resolution. That resolution begins to look really crappy above 32" unless you sit about 20 feet away.

Bulb life is a consideration (typically bulbs last from 3000 to 5000 hours and cost $300 to $500), and you would probably want a screen. Walls or wipe boards just don't cut it (I tried both).

Finally, a big picture deserves big sound, and the integrated speakers probably don't do the job.

I run a Panasonic PT-L700U (1280x720) with component inputs on a 92" diagonal screen. Gamecube (and my version does have component out adapter) looks ok. PS2 looks great. My friend's XBox360 looks incredible.

Price for my setup is more than what someone suggested as the list price for the projector that started this thread, but I don't think you would be very happy with a 640x480 projector and you would feel the $300+ was wasted.

My 2 cents (or 2 dollars)...

Check out projectorcentral.com if you're seriously considering a projector. I don't work for them but found their site extremely useful when determining what type of projector would make me happy. Neither I or any of my friends have any complaints about my setup (you do have to darken the room if you play a game with lots of shadows, ie. Devil May Cry 3 or Burnout Revenge since the projector is LCD based instead of DLP based).
