New release from Dark_Alex (http://www.dark_alex.org/), heres the release info:

UPDATE: now there is support for direct 2.71 (no flash emulation).

However, you cannot have emulation of 2.71 and direct flash access of 2.71 at the same time (read the readme for details). The emulation of the other firmwares is not affected.

Port of devhook (by Booster) launcher to 2.71 by Dark_AleX.

Only the launcher needed to be ported, since the core prx (devhook.prx) loads fine in hen revision B.

The included version of devhook is 0.45, since 0.46 seems to have problems in emulating 1.50 (this also happens in 1.50)
If you want to use 0.46, you can overwrite the files in the dh folder.

There is no currently firmware installer, so you'll have to get the files for firmwares "magically" :P

Note: i've hacked msreboot.bin in this version to have support of direct flash in 2.71. However you cannot have direct flash 2.71 and 2.71 emulation at the same time (the emulation of the rest of firmwares is not affected by this).

If for some reason you prefer emulate 2.71 in your 2.71 instead of the direct flash thing, just go to the folder dh/kd in the root, and rename msreboot.bin to something else, and msreboot_original.bin to msreboot.bin

Todo:

- Port the installer to 2.71

Instructions

- You need Homebrew Enabler for 2.71 revision B (minimum) to run this port.
- Get the files to emulate firmwares yourself.
- Run the pbp with the title "Devhook 0.4X launcher for 2.71". The 1.50 launcher is also included because in the emulated 1.50 you can launch it.

Note: only 1.50 and 2.71 have been tested.
When going from firmware 2.71 to 1.50, you will get the error "Couldn't start game". Don't worry, this is normal and it is done in purpose as a current temporal solution for reboot.bin parameters being differents in both firmwares.

Can someone explain how using this version will benefit me in Layman's terms please?

So are you saying that this makes it so people with fw 2.71 can use emulators that were previously only for fw 1.5?

this is devhook ported by DAX to work on 2.71 via HEN, in laymans terms, you can emulate 1.5 thus you are able to run things like irshell and other such kernal mode homebrew on 2.71
from what else i can gather yo can also reboot into 2.71 possibly allowing you to load extra prx's like regular devhook on 1.5 allows you to (cwcheat being an example)
how does it benefit you? it doesnt unless you are on 2.71, then its really helpful i guess

ta-082 mobo...scared to brick (although HEN could brick as it writes to flash the 1st time...if you manage to get unstable tiff to work)

the chances of bricking while using HEN are about zero since it does not over write any files, it creates new ones. This is in the readme

Don't the .txt files get overwritten? Either way, Anything that writes to flash has chance of becoming PSPaperweight (a.k.a. brick), some though have more chance of bricking (i.e. downgraders) than others (i.e. HEN)

i meant that nothing if the flash gets over written, just read the readme for the HEN and you will see :)

This news should easily spark all those TA-082 owners to rush and download this and run the Reverse DevHook. They can then be honourary members of the PSP 1.5 Army Division!

Bl8z3d If you need a 1.5 firmware dump you can get it from PSP-Hacks.

whats that direct flahs acces thing? does it acces something? oh, also, do i still need 1.5 firmware files? since 2.71 is emulated not 1.5 right?

If you are running the reverse DevHook, then 2.71 isn't emulated because that is your PSP's firmware. The emulated firmware is 1.5 meaning, you WILL need a 1.5 firmware DUMP, not update. Get it from PSP-Hacks.

the Devhook Launcher rev. 2 makes it easier to load up *other things*, but it also overwrites the devhook files on your memory stick to be Devhook .46 (if you were using .45 previously).

the problem is - .46 still has trouble emulating firmware 1.50, and will allow you to get to 1.50, and run homebrews, but you can't get back out without a reset, and once in 1.50 you can ONLY run homebrew. UMDs and *other things* will no longer run.

What a pain in the ass.

Just leave your Devhook version at .45 and your DH Launcher version at the first release, and you can seamlessly jump between firmwares.
