Yep, I made a small port of the j2me (K)VM, making my PSP capable of running JAVA programs.. It was a very easy port…. as the Sun KVM is easy to port. It was done in a jiffy… …

See my video of running these classes:

PeeJayStart.java
org/pimpware/Test.java

So why not sharing the stuff ?? (giving you a download link for example…)

It’s sad…

I asked SUN for permission for distributing my port and they said I could not (yet) distribute it for some (not to mention here) reasons. At least not now..

Why? That would do no harm to SUN to let PSP use Java?!

Well if SUN developed the highly limited Java abilities of Sony's browser, they might not be allowed to willingly allow 'a conflict of interest' piece of software be released for the PSP.

if there is something to leak, no offence but too many hoaxes and not enough releases.

are you allowed to release the source code so people can build it themselves instead of dling it? stupid question but its worth a shot ;D

this is great though cuz i actually have a bit of knowledge on java script :) maybe i can build something usefull

If SUN developed the JAVA capabilities of the PSP browser we'd all be playing Runescape on our PSPs!
It is possible by the way.

My friend almost got it working on his symbian cellphone but the damn thing ran out of RAM

Fantastic idea, good work again man.

Im almost crying thinking of the music apps I could run if this was released :(

Im emailing Sun to (politely) voice my support for this, everyone should do the same.

This is awesome! Too bad SUN won't let you distribute this. If maybe they go bankrupt tomorrow, they'll let you upload it?

I guess it's not running at full speed? What is it capable of running now?
Keep developing, and thank you!

Let's all do what jaydoo said, email SUN and beg for their permission.
