i found this from psp hacks i dont know who made this but it surely isnt mine!

anyway this is a prx that lets u clock devhook to 333mhz and you can use the internet!! the prx is here ready to go, make sure you get a copy of the orginal wlan.prx before you do this just in case it messes up

did i say this is EXPERIMENTAL?

Ive tested this myself and it works so dont doubt it try it out things runs smoother and faster

this is good for people with out custom firmware, the way i got the internet along with the UMDs to run 333mhz all the time is:

1.turn on ur psp
2.hold power switch up for 10 seconds to completely shut ur psp off
3.turn on psp and quickly flip the power switch down to hold mode for recovery mode
4.take psp off hold and select CPU clockspeed
5.select 333mhz
6.select back then exit(brings u to the XMB)
7.once on the XMB load devhook up
8.once devhook loads, go to CPU clockspeed and put it to no change then load up the
firmware u want

after that it runs at 333mhz all the time but will say 000mhz when u hold HOME and hit SELECT once UNLESS u change the clockspeed

iv been useing dev at 333mhz about week after it was released how is this new got my dev off another site that all ready had custom gameboot in intro sound and no im not lieing i can upload it if you like it has the time and date i downloaded it sorry if this makes me come off like a jerk not my intent.

I need to give my devhook an overhaul. I haven't updated it in a while and there have been some good improvements, I guess I have just been hoping for a new devhook altogether with 2.8 emulation but I will still give my devhook some good new plugins. Mainly I just want the homebrew enabler for devhook but this 333 overclock will also be good.

how does this change anything my friend? well first of all dcemu never heard about it, and many people now just found out about so they're enjoying 333mgrhz when they never knew it existed. Now no cares for you saying i had this blah blah because seriously its useless and embarrassing for you

Hi!i'm using DEVHOOK launcher mod and custom firmware....anyway,I did what's been told in this topic as went into custom firmware and set the CPU clock...set no change in DEVHOOK...when i booted devhook the CPU clock shows 000mhz.Is this a good sign that the clock is 333mhz already or nothing has been change at all?Any answer for this?

yeh 000mhz is how it's supposed to be, since u clocked ur cpu in the recovery mode it's running devhook in 333mhz that's why u select "no change" under cpu clockspeed in devhook so it doesn't change since it's already running at 333mhz

im trying to get an anser for this question but i thought using wifi at 333mhz for prolonged periods of time would burn out your wifi? im sorry if im wrong.

So i guess that is it,right?Nothing to worry at all because that is how it's supposed to be,isn't it?I was a bit confused
'cause if i set the clock in devhook to 333 (not in custom firmware) and boot, the PSP will crash then shut off.Just now I set it with custom firmware then it's ok so..just to make sure that it works fine!
Thanks for the explaination!

yeh u can't change the clockspeed after u set it with the cfw cuz it will crash when trying to use the internet, just set it in recovery mode and set it to "no change" in devhook there's no need to set it in the recovery mode or devhook again, just leave the clockspeed alone and it will run at 333mhz

I'm glad you brought this up. I have read previously in a few places that you do indeed run the risk of burning out the WiFi if you use it at 333Mhz.

The PSP does get pretty damn warm on the left side after using WiFi, especially overclocked. If anyone can verify or disprove this I would like to know.

I am more interested in playing UMD games & UMD game back-ups at 266 or 300 or 333 Mhz when using network play (WiFi). I keep my DevHook 0.46 updated but it only lets games enter into network play (ad hoc & infrastructure) at 222 Mhz. Anyone know of a workaround? Will this wlan.prx fix that problem too?

i played syphon filter in insfracture mode 333mghz and my psp started getting really hot

pibs
September 27th, 2006, 05:32
yea i run everything at 333 and its like a portable hot plate ;p but i don't know if any of u guys notice this but it really drains the battery faster than at a regular speed or slower.

September 27th, 2006, 05:33
yeah a while ago i used an old devhook that allowed 333 with wifi and it got hot but if i moved my hand alittle to allow more air flow it cooled down so i wasnt worried.

Tetris999
September 27th, 2006, 05:44

Errm... I've been running an edited version of Devhook .44 for a few months now that has been able to run 333mhz on 2.71. =/

The only problem I have with it is it hangs if I leave a game in the UMD drive and it tries to auto run it upon rebooting into 2.71. The internet does run faster on mine in 333 compared to 222 because I've timed it. >.>

I'll edit this in a second with the name of the person who edited my copy because his name shows up on the menu.

[EDIT:] Ok, the title at the top states: "PSP Devhook Ver. 0.44 by Booster / Launcher Modified by Mok."

I would also like to note that I run most of my games in 333mhz and I've never had any problems. Me And My Katamari for example is laggy as **** at 222mhz, so I've always run it lag free on 333mhz. Same with GTA, but not so much.

pibs
September 27th, 2006, 07:26
ha yea i notice the lag when i fall off a bike on gta lcs but i grew a custom to the lag lol

well the question really wasnt answered "will running wifi at 333mhz burn it out? aka causing it not to function anymore"

thanks.

joesnose
September 27th, 2006, 17:40
well i seem to remember one of the finer coders saying the problem is with the wifi chip, it is 222 max and clocking it to 333 will make it burn baby, running games at 333 is fine as the max clockspeed of the cpu is 333 but i say again overclocking the wifi chip will make it burn!

CandieC
September 27th, 2006, 17:47
alright thanks for the clarification, i think they should put a warning on the main page , so no one goes and kills there psp.

alright now im paranoid because I always use my browser at 333mhz and I dont want to have to replace a burnt out wifi card.

September 27th, 2006, 18:58
while the psp can safely run at 333mhz the wifi chip evidentially cannot. i only will go 333 for a few minutes or until it gets hot and i will NEVER use it during a game whilst using wifi.
