Markus "Notch" Persson has confirmed via Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/notch/status/128564849809694720) that the console version ofMinecraft, announced during E3 for Xbox 360 (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/07/minecraft-on-360-wont-be-a-straight-port-not-developed-by-mo/), will be exclusive to Microsoft's system (meaning no PSN or WiiWare versions). The game will arrive on Xbox Live in the spring of 2012.

Those heading to MineCon (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/minecon) in Las Vegas next month (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/11/minecon-tickets-available-now/) will be able to try out the Xbox 360 version. The PC version is also being completed, having already sold millions (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/05/minecraft-hits-3-million-notch-buys-us-all/) in its beta state. Those heading to MineCon will receive alpha codes (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/08/minecon-attendees-get-alpha-codes-for-cobalt-scrolls/)for Mojang's Scrolls (http://www.joystiq.com/game/scrolls) and Cobalt (http://www.joystiq.com/game/cobalt).
