GPsp v0.7 for V2.71 firmware - GBA Emulator for PSP

Dark Alex has released a version of Exophases GBA Emulator that works on v2.71 via his HEN version C (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=37415), which is the Homebrew enabler for 2.71 firmware. Theres nothing new to the actual emulator though.

Another great gift from Dark_AleX. Also, Exophase must be recognized as gpSP 0.7 is easily one of the best emulators for the PSP. Definitely a favorite of mine.

I bet all the people who lost faith in homebrew for 2.71 and upgraded to 2.80/2.81 are REALLY pissed off now with all the latest developments. Another good time to advise everyone NEVER to upgrade.

:eek: Yeah I think that is where we are headed which is good but because 2.71 homebrew is limited to USER MODE homebrew only so far, so 1.50 remains the best PSP firmware and probably will remain that way for quite some time.

You need your homebrew in PURE eBoot form. Not kxploited. So when you see options for homebrew downloads for both 1.00 & 1.50, pick the 1.00 versions. Those should work. Or convert your 1.50 homebrew to single eBoot.

yes i know all that, i only use 1.00 versions of everything, and im running 2.60. i have homer's rin, gpsp and dgen 1.70 (which didnt even work with gta..) none of which work.at all. although with .99 i get an error message telling me its broken, with is always nice

Are you using this version of gpsp?
dgen 1.70 runs in kernel mode I beleive, not sure about rin but if the app uses wireless or ad-hoc it won´t work.(for now);)

This Hen C is pretty new to me. I'm guessing it's an alternative to using eloader as you launch emus via TIFF? If so would I be better off replacing eloader with Hen C? I'm quite happy with eloader, but I'm very interested in playing the high meg CPS2 and Neo Geo MVS titles that eloader TIFF can't seem to handle. Do those emus work better with Hen C? Also, why won't this GBA emu work with eloader?

I think Nintendo is liking this....If nintendo release something that would improve the speed on the emulator that we have or that would come out in the future....Even better releasing ther owned emulator for psp by this it would ruin sony a lot n nintendo would be #1 agian..not that i hate sony but after wat happen to booster n the PS3 being $600...Im still going to buy but it would lose a lot of costumer.

Did anyone notice that the emu freezes when trying to change the options during the game when holding the triangle button and pressing right on the directional pad? This was tested using the hen_c on devhook 2.71.

BTW, thanks Dark_Alex and Exophase for bringing out some awesome stuff.

i'm with you man, i have no clue how to do this.

1. Make sure you have a 2.71 PSP before you start using this emu.
2. Follow the instructions in the README file of hen_c.
3. If you got hen_c to work, then put the emu inside the PSP/GAME folder of your memory stick.
4. Launch the application from the memory stick in the Game menu of the XMB and that's it.

If you do try it with devhook, make sure you have unrar the hen_c file and look for the folder labeled "dh" and copy the contents onto your memory stick (NOTE: Make a backup of the original dh file first before copying it just in case anything goes wrong ;) ).

Then, follow step 3 and 4 of what I wrote on page 4 and you should be good to go. :)

Yeah, is this across the board and will it be fixed in an update? You have to reboot to select another game. Has anyone got the options working? I'm using HenC XMB launcher.
