Casual gaming company WildTangent has released an app that enables users to rent games for Android devices.
The WildTangent Games App is now available worldwide, and as well as offering rentals can also be used to discover and play free casual games, as well as purchase paid titles. Purchases and rentals are made using the company's virtual currency, WildCoins.
While the app is currently only available in English, it already boasts a strong catalogue of games, including Doodle Jump, Fruit Ninja, and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Senior vice president Sean Venderdasson said: "Smartphones and tablets are a great fit for our service as we pride ourselves in offering the best entertainment value for game players. Just like movies and music, consumers prefer to own some titles, rent some and watch some for free, and we've brought these same options to games.
"With our new Android service, game developers will expose their games to the widest audience possible, using the most comprehensive business model in the game industry."
