EVE Online's substantial Crucible expansion launches on 29th November, developer CCP has announced. The update brings with it over three dozen new features and tweaks, apparently largely based on user-submitted feedback.CCP's announcement promised "a melting pot of improvements to match as CCP laser focuses on getting back to basics with its infamous internet spaceships."A full list of new content is due next week but, for now, here are the highlights:

Four fan-designed battlecruisers built to deliver swift and effective destruction to the opposition
Over a dozen stunningly remade nebulae, changing the look and feel of EVE's universe completely
Other fan-favorite graphical improvements such as engine trails, warp tunnels and shadows
Time dilation in fleet flights - adjusting time itself to keep fairness alive when hundreds of players face off against each other
Three new factional captain's quarters with unique, artistic looks
A significant ship rebalancing effort, to bring greater diversity and balance to large and small scale conflicts
A lot of small changes - from fonts to UI to Doomsday devices to PvE tweaks

Crucible is the first major expansion since the storm of controversy surrounding the game this summer, which ended in a candid public apology (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-10-05-ccp-boss-is-truly-sorry-for-eve-issues) from CCP's CEO and a wave of job cuts (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-10-19-big-shake-up-at-eve-online-dev-ccp) at the studio.
