Reflash 1.5?

So basically I want reflash my 1.5 my with a clean firmware. Can I change my system number to 1.00 and run the 1.5 update? Or will this result in a brick?:confused:

You could always update to 2.00 and downgrade to 1.50.

Well I dont really want to do any upgrading or downgrading. I just heard that you need to have a clean 1.5 to install dark_alex's custom 2.71 firmware. The only things I have are Dark_alex's custom firmware and I replaced the backgrounds. So if I remove the custom firmware I should be fine.

the mph downgrader and the 1.5>1.0 are the same thing, the mph d/ger tricks ur psp to think it's 1.0 so u can run the official 1.5(clean)fw, and the 1.5>1.0 downgrader gives u the the official 1.0fw and then u can update...the point is they do the same thing so either one would do :D

Ya it will. STX changer runs on 1.5 and tricks it to 1.0. Then you use Sonys 1.5 upgrader to upgrade.

Could you not spoof 1.0 using X-Flash and trick your PSP into upgading to 1.5?

The only way to get a true clean 1.5 is downgrade to 1.0 then up back to 1.5

I think its best to downgrade to 1.0 hen update to 1.5 but anyways it doesnt matter there are both the same really

i would downgrade to 1.0 that upgreade to 1.5 the easy downgrader at psp hacks is the way to do it but thats just my thoughts

Ok, let me clear it up for you guys. They both do the same thing! If your on 2.0 and downgrade to 1.5, the hack makes it think it's running 1.0. If your running 1.5, the hack makes it think your running 1.0. It all comes down to the same exact thing! Neither is 'safer'.

If you have custom firmware, you can get the index.dat from the MPH downgrader and then put that in the root of your memory stick.

And then use the option to flash the index.dat to flash0 in the recovery menu.
