Yes and they all worked with the last release and they the newer ones dont work with this release. Before i just set it to 128kb but this emu doesnt have a way to do that so i guess i have to stick with the old one.:(

This is the farthest I can get in the game and it crashes everytime when I walk left past the Goron. Then I get the blue screen. This is a little past the Droplets Dungeon. Nothing that I can really do here to stop the crash. I guess there's supposed to be a cinema where the Goron rises up and that makes the PSP crash every time. Guess I'll wait tll the next update. Hopes this helps at least a little on the problem.
~Got past the Droplet dungeon boss exactly as someone said, used the lamp minimaly (probably had used the lamp for a total of one second). Brought the lamp out, then immediately slashed so it wouldn't crash. also ran away from the boss so too much fire wouldn't appear on the screen--did this because it crashed a few times while I didn't even have the lamp out. Thought it had something to do with the fire that is being rendered, but don't know.

Has anyone actually been able to fully finish this game with this EMU? From what I have seen, the game seems to work better with each new release of gpSP and Exophase is one of the most generous homebrew developers I've seen so I have faith that this game will work 100% someday soon.

pokemon emerald works fine for me, it looked like youd added all the versions for all the pokemon games to the config already exophase, unless theres a difference between ruby and saphire versions 1.0 and 1.1
as for minish problem, ill probably play that now, but in the previous version i managed to get all the way to the vatti fight, so maybe people should try on that version as well

There might be. Aside from that I've always been very suspicious of the latter Pokemon games having the same game code for USA and European one, I expected an A one), so there might be A ones out there.

Since the very first release, Star Wars The New Droid Army has never worked for me. Has anyone managed to get this to work?
I hope someone else can try it because it is not listed in any of the compatibility lists that I have seen. This game is great and will do well from the new Save States Exophase added to the emulator because it only has a terrible password save system that means you have to keep on starting again. I hope someone will test this out to see if it is working :D

Yeah, I can't believe how good this game runs. In fact, I can't believe how good this Emulator is. It is truly beyond reality. Mario, Metroid, FF Tactics, Zelda & more on the big screen PSP. Life doesn't get much better.

Yes, this game is definitely an incredible RPG. Although I can't seem to get it working. I know i have the right BIOS but I am always getting a bad jump error. Is there something I can do with the settings to get it to work? Or does this game NOT WORK?
::EDIT::
Ok I was in fact using a different BIOS. I was kindly directed to the correct BIOS by another member and now this game seems to work flawlessly. Incredible Emulator.
Again, I must give thanks to Exophase! BEST EMU for the PSP!

Yeah I gotta admit that with Full-Speed & perfect sound, good compatibility, and the PSP's 480x272 pxl screen playing GBA games is MORE enjoyable on the PSP. Not to mention SAVE STATES which increases the convenience of playing GBA games in general.
Exophase is just unreal!

If you have kids, or if you are cluttered, and have lost your GBA game manuals or if you are trying out a ROM before you buy and need a manual......
Where the heck can you get them? Can you just buy them from Nintendo for like $2.00 or so? Can you download them?
If anyone knows of a good way to get GBA manuals, can you please post or PM me on where/how?
Thanks!

I think it's the real bios fault, some games u play with the real bios and some with the other bios cause that bad jump thing happens 2 me also.

Yeah, I suppose you are right. I just like having the actual game manual in PDF or the actual physical manual. I am pretty sure Nintendo sells them for about $2.00 a pop. I'll give them a call.

I have not yet noticed any problems with in-game saves with 0.8. Save States also seem to work great with the few games I've used it on.
Perhaps, checking your memstick for corruptions, re-installing gpSP, etc. may fix this for you. Also, maybe it could have something to do with what firmware you are using this on. It seems this EMU has had the LEAST amount of problems on true 1.50 PSP's which is what I have.

I had 3 occurances of non-saving too, 2 with castlevania, one with that castlevania game Harmony of Dis, and another with Circle of the moon. But this was in version 0.7.
Lucky for me I only played each for a few mins. When I started again they saved fine. It seems that sometimes the saving just stops working. But very rarely happens.
The 3rd instance being with broken sword - I loaded my game and played, then when saving I noticed the memory card indicator wasn't flashing when saving. But a reboot fixed it.
Now I always look at the memory card LED to ensure a save is actually occuring.
PSP 2.00 - gpSP v 0.7 (cos version 8 games don't load for me - even with the 'real' bios)

SO it seems as it stands now, Zelda Minish Cap is not FULLY playable? Meaning you can't play through and beat the entire game without a crash?
Also, could someone who has tested any or all of the following games let me and others know if they crash. I have not played to the end yet.
1.) Rivierea Promised Land
2.) Kingdom Hearts - Chain of Memories
3.) Tales of Phantasia
4.) Summon Night
5.) Final Fantasy I & II Dawn of Souls
6.) Final Fantasy IV
7.) Metroid Fusion

I'm guessing we'll just have to wait until gpSP 0.9. Or, you could try bumping the frameskip up to 99 to bypass the crashing, that worked in previous versions, like crashing when you get the map.

its funny, i got past the veil falls bit, as it worked on 0.7, all you have to do is save just after that bit (so like after you jumped into the tornado/whatever-it-was, then landed in the cloud place, then save)then load it up on 0.8. you should be able to get through the wind temple at least if you do that (i managed to)

Any posts confirming whether or not these games crash at certain points would be helpful to a good amount of people. Thanks in advance to anyone who can advise.
I played summon night and it froze on the the first battle where you fight chase and tales of phantasia is working good for me so far. final fantasy IV is working but i have to use save states. I haven't tried kingdom hearts yet.
Edit: I got summon night past the first battle using the game config text file in gpsp 0.8 if you know what your doing you can deltete idle loops that make the game crash.

Hi, I've just put gpsp on my psp and I have to say it's great. The only problem i'm having is when I play pokemon emerald an internal battery error apperars when I boot it up. Is there any way to fix this because it is needed to use features such as the tides or berry growing. Thanks

I've dabbled into the savestate options, but is the actual saving of the state supposed to take nearly a minute to finish?

i jus got this to work yesterday night, i was spending all day chekcing wut i did rong... at first it would say the game couldnt be played, and i downloaded gpsp like 3 times to see if it would make a difference... and it did, the blue screen came up and i went to load my game.. it didnt work.. i had the roms in .zip file, and they didnt work so i unzipped them and put .gba and then the roms loaded, i thought that gpsp can play zipped roms though...?? can they??
shadowhawk22
November 27th, 2006, 01:01
if the zip is just the rom file, it will run it. Period. Your zip file must not be correct. Just zip the rom file in a simple zip file, and you are set. It should work.
I am still waiting on how to get passed the Falls part on Minish Cap (Veal Falls I think it is called). Hope we find a way soon, maybe in the next upgrade (.9)?

Hey, I'm sorry if someone else posted about this, but I searched all over the forums and couldn't find anything.
FF5A runs smoothly, but the sound is all garbled on all of the emulator's sound options. I thought maybe if I got rid of the idle loop it might work better, but I couldn't find the appropriate settings. The only thing I could find was this:
# FF5A
game_name = FF5ADVANCE
game_code = BZ5J
vender_code = GD
idle_loop_eliminate_target = 0801f162
...but I took it from a Japanese site and when I looked at my American ROM in the Hex editor the values weren't the same. Does anyone know what the right settings are and if changing them would even fix the sound for some reason? Thanks in advance!

Can someone help me put this emulator togethre i have a 1.5 firmware psp
When you open up your download, do you see how there are different firmware versions? You have version 1.5, so open up the folder for 1.5 and click in PSP, click in Game, and then you should see two files: one with % and one without. Extract these two files into your PSP-->GAME folder. And with finding the .bios and roms......you're on your own. :)
I have a problem getting Kingdom Hearts working. It works fine on my PC emulator, but when i choose it for my PSP, the light flashes, then i am sent back to my main menu. Any tips?

What do you need help with concerning installation? Just slide the GPSP and GPSP% folders in your GAME folder on your PSP. Put the bios in the GPSP folder. Also create a new folder in the GPSP folder named Roms and stick your .gba roms in there. Should work fine after that assuming you are on a fw1.5 PSP. If you have aim that would work much better than email.
xxcolbyxx
December 5th, 2006, 05:15
Grizzly, do you already have your bios for your GBA and your roms? If you do have these two, then you can simply copy paste your bios and your rom into the folder without the %.
Assuming you have the corrent bios, and a good rom, then when you select the gpsp icon from your game folder it should run, and then you can use O to select your game. It should run fine.
Oops, dj2005 beat me to it, but yeah installation shouldn't be the hard part--its where to find the bios that took me the longest.
So far:
~Kirby Amazing Mirror does not work, crashes when start single player.
~Mario and Luigi Supersaga freezes at bowser battle, i read about a patch that could fix this?
~Kingdom Hearts COM fails to even start.

Yggdra Union seems to work, I'll finish testing it later;

::EDIT::
Ok I was in fact using a different BIOS. I was kindly directed to the correct BIOS by another member and now this game seems to work flawlessly. Incredible Emulator.
Again, I must give thanks to Exophase! BEST EMU for the PSP!

As mentioned a few posts above yours, there is a huge update to this emulator here (http://dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=46046). Use this instead.
For custom icons, you can probably use PBP Unpacker (http://www.pdc.me.uk/pbpunpacker.php) to unpack, add images, then repack the EBOOT.PBP.

alex_b: Are you joking?????
A website with a video telling you how to do everything?
Before television destroyed the human race's ability to think, there were these things called books. They contained valuable information in written form, where it can be studied, referenced and compiled very easily. Even today in the online world, the best way to obtain detailed information on a subject is normally through this 'text' stuff.
I mean Exophase 'wrote' the emulator; as opposed to 'filmed' or 'directed' it. I'd love to see code being created via that method, perhaps interpretive dance......
I can see it now: In the future perhaps computers will be powerful enough to interpret our dance moves into if, while and case statements.
Now that's progress.
Back to the topic at hand.
The only things you need are the words 'pandoras battery' and the google search on the front page of DCemu.
Searching for those words will lead you to many guides that you can read and find all the info you need.
Once you have read enough for you to feel you have a fairly good understanding of what's involved, then you should ask whatever questions you have to clarify points you are not sure of.
Using a video guide you are far more likely to miss something or do something incorrectly, it also makes any questions you have harder for people to answer as you cannot just link them to the text and say 'I'm not sure about step 14'.
This thread (especially since its an old version of the emulator) is not the place to ask these things. You should start a thread in the psp help forum once you have spent time reading up on what you need to do to get to a custom firmware and run homebrew on the PSP.
People have no problems answering questions so long as you've made the effort to work it out yourself first.
Watching some quick video or being spoon fed info is not the same as reading up and actually understanding what you are about to do.
That's probably overly harsh but I feel its valid. I'll play nice now.
<spoonfeed>
Try this for an explanation of what pandora is (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=2148000552&postcount=3) and this for how to actually do it. (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=77747)
There are surely better guides but that'll do (I love the spelling in the intro...) and you can easily search for others.

People have no problems answering questions so long as you've made the effort to work it out yourself first.
Which is what annoys me; so many people aren't. I'm not very technically minded, so this PSP hacking took me a while to figure out, but I just read as many FAQs and readmes as possible. Sick of seeing questions like "How play game???".

but then it says, "This game could not be started. (80020148)"
so i thought it was a problem with my EBOOT so i used another one.

Nice this is pretty awesome. now i just need a emulator with another feature ive been wanting. but i might get bored enough to work on it myself.(not gonna say what feature...)
And Blackandwhitebox, you need a custom firmeware, which means you have to hack your psp. (if you didnt know that)
