UK supermarket chain Asda is selling a 19-inch HD-ready TV for under £100 this Christmas.
The Luxor TV also comes with built-in Freeview giving buyers access to 50 channels and 24 radio stations. It’s the latest deal from Asda following its £40 Blu-ray player (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/asda-debuts-pound-40-blu-ray-player/087408) it promoted last month.
Asda is also offering a Luxor PVR 250-690 digital recorder priced at £89 which features 250GB storage space for up to 180 hours of TV programmes. Then there’s a £198 32-inch Luxor TV available with built-in Freeview.
Asda technology expert Michael Arnott, said: “We want to ensure that high quality, high definition entertainment is affordable for all of our customers. Christmas is a time when families get together to relax and home entertainment is a huge part of that.”
“For a long time, HDTV has been at a premium price. Our latest range of TVs make HD affordable for all families who wish to enjoy it.”
An Asda statement added: "At £98, the TV is the perfect gift for children’s bedrooms or that dull corner of the kitchen. The price beats Argos, where an almost identical Bush set costs over £20 more."
