Archeide (http://snemul.free.fr/ds/) has posted a new release of SNEmulDS!
SNEmulDS 0.3a changes are :

It's not a real release yet, it's a preview release because i'm disappointed with my save feature which stopped to work properly for me. It seems it comes from my SD card but i'm not sure.
I need help from people who had no problems saving with 0.2... This new release have sound! I need to know if this new reelase reload music correctly...

Whats New:

Sound support using PocketSPC engine (thanks to gladius). The sound is not very good yet because of bad synchronising
Improved stylus support
Max Media support (use SNEmulDS_maxmedia)
SPC jukebox lets you listen to your favorite music while playing another game with better sound quality than with the real sound emulation

the max media player with the 4GB HDD doesnt run the roms, it finds them but it says that the roms are 0 bytes and the top screen just stays black. the touch screen options work, so is there any way to change the settings so that itll run on the MMP?

it can play all hi roms
but lo roms must be 2mb or under

ACID

and they have to be unzziped

they have to be .smc files right? and i know that they have to be 2mb or lower. Does The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening work for you? because its under 2mb, but it still doesnt run. Im pretty sure theres something that i did wrong, but i dont know what it is. All i know is that Pictodrive works for me and for some reason this or any other snes emulator that says it supports the MMP doesnt seem to work. O and do you guys own the max media dock or HDD?

I meant to say link to the past, i forgot Links Awakening was the gameboy one

Gee my MMD 4gig HDD plays them just fine. Make sure you have them unzipped :-P

maybe the MMP just sucks. I said the MMP w/ 4GB HDD not the MMD w/ 4gb, which is the one you have. Trust me, theres a big difference. I was so glad that someone released a snes emulator for the MMP too, but it was just another dissapointment for me, this really sucks.

earthbound- runs well, sound is fair(kinda like a nes), minor graphic glitches, definitely playable

castlevania dracula x- runs slow and steady, sound is great, persistant translucent fire graphic stuck on screen. runs too slow to play enjoyably

illusion of gaia - froze after opening screen

mario is missing - sprites are behind backround, not really playable

supercastlevania - runs a little slow, but overall not bad

supermario rpg - won't even load

chrono trigger - super glitchy, seems to freeze early on too

f zero - can't see the track

link to the past - sometimes minor graphic glitches when loading, runs a little slow but not bad

mega man x - major problem with jumping, no text boxes, moderate graphic glitches, runs fair but can be sluggish or jittery

super ghouls and ghosts - runs slow, moderate graphic errors

super r type - runs well

A little better then the last version but I'm not even pulling 50% in my choices
See hardware in signature.

Tutorial on how to work this!
Step 1: Getting started
1. Go to the WEBSITE, due to the fact that the Max media isn't in this zip.
2. Download The Version 3 (This one has the Max Media included)
3. Extract the Max Media Ver3 to the ROOT of your card.
Step 2: How to play roms
1. Create a folder called "Snes"
2. Add your roms to the folder, unzipped.
3. Remove any special charaters in the rom name
4. Make sure your rom is not over 2mb(Unless its HiRom)
Step 3: Execute the roms
1. Turn DS on and wait for your Max Media to load.
2. Start "SNEmuLDSmaxmedia.nds"
3. Choose your roms from the list..

I'll make a capability list laster, but I'll tell you the roms I tested:

Super Mario World - Screen glitched up, disable one of the BGs.

Super Mario AllStars - Screen glitched up, disable one of the BGs. The Choose your game list is 100% glitched, can't change it.

Rockman and Forte - Players behind BG, disable BG1. Freezes almost all the time, save states from time to time.

Donkey Kong Country - Freezes when you swap from Donkey to Diddy. Messed up screen, disable BG1...or was it 2..Freezes in gameplay, save states everytime you beat a level.

Yoshi Island - Loads, but won't play.

Zelda 3 - Works perfectly. Its slow and has a few graphic errors.

Megaman X - Megamans behind BG, can't change it.

Kirby Superstar - First, its a LoRom, not Hi. Freezes.

Kirby 3 - Read Kirby Superstar

Super Mario RPG - Freezes when loaded.

Donkey Kong Country 2 - Freezes at Title Screen.

"Please download this new release:

It seems indeed that save feature was broken for most users in alpha release.

This beta version of 0.3 includes a simpler save system that should work for all devices that support saving.
Another little change : larger items in all file selections and a back button in the Select ROM selection.

For people who had problems with saving feature in 0.3a, please tell me if this help. It helped me at least ! Rolling Eyes"

that's from the guy that put this together not me.. word go check it out!

ill try putting it on the MMD later, then hopefully itll work. By the way, good job bonic, your probably the best coder that has actually made good emulators for the ds, although the only one i got to work is pictodrive.

I have been using the MMDock. It runs ok. I know there will more updates and all. I really hope you programmers stick with this, I can actually play some RPG's on it. That makes me happy. One question though, does it run better if your card is formatted as FAT or FAT32? (Mine is FAT32)

Hey, pretty cool. I'm usually on the PSP section but I just bought a shiny Black DS Lite and I'm itching to get the most out of it. This EMU sounds like a great project.

Would anyone be so kind to suggest the best combination of components for DS homebrew & emulation?

I was thinking about getting the followng, which is the best combo from what I've seen so far:

1.) SuperCard Lite (Black)
2.) SuperKey
3.) 2GB Ultra II Micro SD from SanDisk

If anyone can let me know if thats all I'll need I'd appreciate it.
