Apparantly Sony have been releasing UMDs to YourPSP members containing Beta versions of firmware 3.0. Wonder howe long it'll take before it ends up on the internet?

The psone emulator would be vey tempting. I think sony will try however to do their utmost to prevent hackers/coders from devhooking it and whatnot...

It does appear fake except for the UMD. Would be harder to photoshop that UMD shot unless they took apart the case and added a label to the small disc.

Also, this could be yet another clever tactic by SONY to try and bait the homebrew community. How? If this is a BETA close to release, SONY would be very interested in any exploits, decryption, emulation, etc. of their highly anticipated 3.0 firmware.

Soooo I would hope that any holes found by homebrew developers are not made public until the final version is released.

Otherwise we could see 3.01 which could lock out all the fun..... The next month will see a major battle in the "homebrew vs. SONY" war. Clearly homebrew has been winning the war but lets see how the next battle unfolds.

Uhm always, the first UMD I had was a UMD with fw 2.00 and some crap UMD music and a trailer (not everybody has internet or a wireless connection).
Almost with every UMD game is a firmware, and because this a (fake oke) beta they would give it tru a UMD.

And Sony would NEVER beta test a firmware to the public... The purpose of a beta is to test to find any bugs and provide feedback... If someone found a bug that bricked their psp would Sony want to have to replace thousands of PSPs if the update was leaked?

this photo was on psp-hacks ages ago it´s so fake why would sony use a 1.8 gb umd to give out 30 something meg update and if you read the letter it´s very amateur
