Just last week Google revealed Android Market has passed the 10 billion download milestone.
This may have speededup this dosclosure by Apple, which also says its Mac App Store – launched earlier this year – has now achieved more than 100 million app downloads.
With the help of the Mac App Store, Apple has now reached over 18 billion app downloads.
The iTunes App store boasts over 500,000 apps across iPhone, iPad, iPod and Touch and attracts more than one billion downloads per month from customers, according to the firm.
While the company revealed overall stats, it didn't reveal specific downloads for individual platforms such as the iPhone.
