Nintendo Of Japan is offering a fix for the game-breaking bug (http://www.next-gen.biz/news/nintendo-acknowledges-game-breaking-zelda-bug) found in Wii RPG The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword (http://www.next-gen.biz/filter/all/tags/3122).
As we reported last week, the bug is triggered when parts of the Song Of The Hero quest are completed in a certain order.Nintendo (http://www.next-gen.biz/filter/all/tags/155)'s initial response was to explain how to avoid the bug, and say it was "documenting all feedback." But now, Andriasang reports, the company is going further.
For those with an internet connection, Nintendo will "distribute a program." Whether this will be a patch to remove the bug from the game entirely, or a standalone piece of software to fix affected save files, is not made clear. Wii patches are rare; Nintendo has never updated one of its own games, but Activision has done so with recent entries in the Call Of Duty series.
Those whose Wiis are not connected to the internet will be able to send in their SD card, or even their Wii (http://www.next-gen.biz/filter/all/tags/877) console, for Nintendo to fix itself.
