In just over a week's time we'll be suited-and-booted, ready for the 24th annual Golden Joysticks awards ceremony. And to tweak the excitement a little further, the person who knows as given us permission to release a list of the ten games that are all vying for the biggest gong in gaming, the Play.com Ultimate Game Of The Year.

So, without furtherado - and in alphabetical order only - here are the top ten games in the running for the Play.com Ultimate Game Of The Year. Make your vote count right here!

Wow, 3 Nintendo DS game on the list but 0 PSP games ;-(

Unless the Tomb Raider is the PSP version... but I doubt it.

Resident Evil 4. RE4 has to be the best game i played sence orcarina of time. RE4 is one of my 2 favorite games of all time.

its because no psp games were that good around the dates they mentioned....

who cares...what pisses me off is that they dont have KINGDOM HEARTS II in the list.

My Vote goes to Oblivion because coming from someone who has played all these games i have to say that it should get the GOTY stamp just because its depth in the game because you can go through that game and see all the different items and people its just soooooo immersive! By far the clear winner here, sorry ; )

mmmm...Resident Evil 4...

I love that game!!! I hope to play something like that on Silent Hill Origins.

It's a shame that the psp it's not there...but what did you want! Crisis core is still on development!!!

Resident evil 4 is by far the best game I've ever played. I probably would change my opinion cus i never played any of those other games Lol.

Those are just overrated titles. Where are the 2006 games that are actually good?

The only games on those lists that I liked were Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Half-Life 2 and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. Wasn't LCS a 2005 game?

Ressy 4 for sure! I LOVE that game. I actually bought a PS2, just so I could get more of it! A PS2! I never thought that would ever happen!

Only one I played was oblivion, and it certainly isnt for graphics wores. The game is beautiful yes, but its also just a damn good game.

yup same as captain here, I played Obliv for pc and id have to say its better than wow(would rather play wc3tft dota than fork monthly $)

is the oblivion on the list for pc or xb360?

my vote for animal crossing :P

oblivion (IMO) was marred by loading times, clunky controls, and that infuriating "Loading...." message that appears every ten seconds. next they'll be asking us to press play on tape..

animal crossing on the other hand has kept not just me but my gf entertained for coming up on a year now... that's a damn good innings.

Resident Evil 4 (PS2 version) - absolutely amazing.

Forget Oblivion - it is way over rated, too repetitive and a pure dungeon crawl. Sure, nice graphics, but gameplay is SHALLOW.

In comparsion to marrowinds, it is just a touch shallow... but i still loved it :)
