Sega has officially launched its full online Sonic the Hedgehog store (http://www.sonicmerchandise.com/).
The site went live on a test basis last month. It features a range of merchandise including figures, stationary, clothes, posters and DVDs. The range will widen throughout the year, too.
It includes a loyalty system, too, which awards Reward Points for every purchase that can be redeemed against future orders.
Furthermore, customers can get 15 per cent off any order until the end of the month by entering the following code – JANSALE15. There’s no limit on the number of times the cade can be used.
“Sonic the Hedgehog’s fan base has grown continually over the past twenty years and the demand for branded merchandise has increased along with his popularity” SEGA Europe’s head of brand licensing Sissel Henno stated.
“By teaming up with RHM Solutions we are able to provide something for all Sonic fans with an online store that includes fashionable apparel, collectible figurines, stylish stationery and much more. We are looking forward to seeing how the store evolves and how consumers can engage with the brand in a new way.”

Well that looks awesome! It's amazing that there wasn't a Sonic store earlier though. I wouldn't have thought he's as popular now as he was 10/15 years ago. Still, maybe this and Sega's promotional work will spark a revival. :)
