Not too long ago, Stefan Eriksson was living a life of luxury. Even though one of his investments, the Gizmondo handheld, was a financial disaster, the former gaming exec was still riding around in Malibu in flashy cars--that is until one of them was totaled on a stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway. The incident set off a bizarre investigation into whether or not Eriksson was parading around in stolen vehicles. Yesterday, the opening statements were made in Eriksson's trial, in which he is charged with embezzlement and auto theft. Eriksson has pled no contest to drunk-driving charges and also has a pending case on gun charges.
