As if broken street dates weren’t bad enough, supermarket giant Asda has cut new PS2 releases PES 6 and Canis Canem Edit to under £25 in another bid to dominate first week sales.
Advertising in several national newspapers shows the Konami and Rockstar titles on sale at Asda for £24.77, following on from its previous sub-£25 promotion on FIFA ’07.

The anticipation for both PES 6 and Canis Canem Edit has already led to stores selling the titles early, and with the market increasingly desperate to gain the edge over the competition, this latest Asda deal will enrage retail rivals.

It will ensure that the supermarket claims a significant proportion of opening week sales on two of the most important titles to hit retail this Q4, as many other firms will be unable to compete with this latest round of super-low pricing.

Maybe I'll go to the nearest ASDA store and see if the titles are the and priced lower than the usual of £30 in most places.
