I burned Goldeneye onto a
CD-R disk and it plays fine on my DVD player but when I try to play it on my PS2 it just says "Unable to Read Disk". Is there any way to fix this? Should I try a DVD-R disk? Please help! ??? ???

Leo...
I usually steer very clear of these kinds of posts.. but
I've noticed they've been happening all too often..
You're first post is about why a backup doesn't work..

I'm going to assume that you actually own the original
and don't want to scratch it.. if that's not the case..
if you buy the box sets it works out to about $12-14
for each bond flick.. That's less than a movie ticket
and popcorn/drink for each.. Even me who screams murder
at $25 movies.. finds that rather reasonable...

Now.. simply put.. the ps2 can't read VCD/XVCD/CVD/SVCD/XSVCD
Only DVD...

I'm not for privacy or anything but if you want to play a copied dvd in your PS2 then it needs to actually be on a DVD for ****ing christ sakes its not a DVD if its on cdr.
If you arent smart enough to figure out how to burn a dvd then you dont need to trying to bootleg.

i will also assume this is a back up of the dvd you own
if you burn it on a dvdr it won't read on a playstation 2 unless you have a mod chip

to be honest i have a PS2 premodded with the DMS3 modchip to enable me to play emulators/homebrew on the PS2 but ive never been bothered to play movies on the PS2, i have several DVD players for that function.

well unlike the Dreamcast, the only feasible way to play emulators on the PS2 is via a modchip(for the moment anyway) and yes DMS3 is perfect.
