An anonymous reader writes to point out reports that Asus is "working on a new laptop that will include Kinect gestures (http://www.thedaily.com/page/2012/01/27/012712-tech-kinect-laptop/) and will be compatible with Windows 8," and adds, "What does this mean for the consumer? Portable gestures in Windows 8!" Wired has anarticle based on the same report (http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/01/microsoft-kinect-laptops/all/1?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+wired%2Findex+(Wired%3A+Index +3+(Top+Stories+2))), which mentions also the prospect of devices incorporating alternative gesture-tracking software from SoftKinectic and others.
