New features:

Music format changed from OGG to MP3
Loads random music from /PSP/MUSIC/ (and sub directories if present) - If no music is found default music is played
New game mode 'Survival' - keep the ball in play for as long as possible (score upload and database upgraded to cater for changes)
'Arcade' mode to replace previous Vs. CPU mode

I've started to label the versions.

The static background image can be changed by replacing the background.png file with a different one (480x272).

New screenshots (still has old menu):

Menu screen (also demo playing is in the top down view with 'lines' background effect)

The screenshots of the visualizer do not do it justice. In gameplay it looks excellent.

What an incredible homebrew game. I usually just use homebrew EMULATORS but this game changes that.

I love that you can play back your own music stored in the MUSIC folder.

Great job on this and you have my support.

Pretty good, but the 1.0 FW files don't work, I get an error saying "Game could not be started". However, the 1.5 files work fine :)

No need to change the PlayerFile - older versions will be updated automatically.

djk21008: You were lucky, the X movement of the ball is sometimes very small. I'll remove that luck in the next version ;)

SnoopKatt: How were you trying it? I tried it with the nokxploit patched and it worked fine (that is my only method of testing however for firmware 1.0)

This is an awesome game. Is there any chance that you could make it 3D like the online game curveball?

It is rendered in 3D, but I get what you're asking.

I doubt it - the game already has it's theme.

I might consider it for a future release, but again, I don't think I'd take this game to that level.

Umm I'm using Dark Alex's 2.71 hacked firmware, put it in the PSP folder, and then I just told it to run. Isn't it already patched?

I would like to see a two-player version of this game, in which one player would use the Up/Down arrows to control his paddle, and the other player would use the Triangle/X buttons to move his.

I really like this game, its simple but fun. :) That fact that it now plays my MP3's is a great addition. I've also tried changing the Wav sound effects ("gameover man, game over" from the aliens film) but altering this seems to crash the game when it boots up?

Top homebrew!

Now this is really developing to be a fantastic homebrew game (even more than it is now).

I love the new MP3 feature which allows you to play own music and also the survival mode. I've always wanted to see more modes for this game.

The only things I think would be great now are multiplayer gaming (either on one console, or through wifi) and a few more modes.

Great work, Insomniac! Really, really great. :)

Wow I just thought of an idea that would kind of be like my other one in that it might be too much for just 48 gour pong. If you implement multiplayer, you could do it for 4 players and do a square. Then you could have more than one ball. I thought of that because of Crach Bash so that's where the credit goes. You probably wouldn't want to do this because it would be a completely different game but it would be awesome.

I'll be looking at 2 player mode as I think this game is really suited for it.

2 player mode may or may not include adhoc, wifi and single-console.

Any ideas for other game modes are welcomed.

Well this isn't really game modes but for features that you could have, I haven't played the game enough to notice if you can put vurve on the balls but if you haven't then you might want to think about it. Also, you could allow each player to move their piece vertically a little bit so they can get slams. Just a thought.

Edit: Also, this would probably be easy to implement, you could add options for what size the court is. This way you could have it like a long hallway like it is right now or you could have a tennis court shape. You could even add different options for what goes on the ball like a tennis ball, other sports balls, or just different colors.
