USB memory key for playstation

I have a USB memory key and i want to use it as a memory card, i don't want to buy a new device, i want to know if there is a piece of software that can reformat the key so it will work, or is there a way to go with the software in the box?

I know that the Action Replay Max Evo has it's own USB memory key, which allows formatting etc via either PS2 or PC software. Maybe it'd work with other USB drives...
