Sony (http://www.edge-online.com/tag/Sony) has confirmed it will shut down PSP (http://www.edge-online.com/filter/all/tags/882)'s comic book download service at the end of September.
The service, announced in 2009 (http://www.edge-online.com/news/sony-launches-psn-digital-comics-service) and cancelled in the west last July (http://www.edge-online.com/news/sony-drops-psp-comics), will no longer be updated from March 15, though the comic reader app will be available until the end of the year.
Those who have purchased content in the past will be able to redownload it until the end of the year as well, with Sony advising those that want to back up their purchases to use Media Go.
The company says it is currently looking into offering comics, and other digital books content, "through other Sony and PlayStation brand product," according to Andriasang, which we assume means PSP's successor, PS Vita (http://www.edge-online.com/filter/all/tags/883).
