Amazon looks to extinguish the glory of well hung 9.7-inch iPad 2.
The current Kindle Fire measures at seven-inches, but that hasn't stopped it from shipping four million units (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/amazon-becomes-world-s-number-two-tablet-maker/017059) in under two months.
Now, Amazon plans on moving to bigger and better things by creating a ten-inch Kindle Fire, according to the China Times (http://news.chinatimes.com/tech/171706/122012021700382.html), citing that Foxconn may receive samples by March.
This would put it in direct competition with premium tablet, the iPad 2, which measures at 9.7-inches.
Additionally, BGR (http://www.bgr.com/2012/02/17/amazon-may-launch-a-larger-kindle-fire-in-q2/) claims the report came after an analyst said Amazon was concentrating on a upgraded seven-inch tablet and a nine-inch tablet for release halfway through the year.
Last week, we reported Apple may be working on a smaller screened iPad (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/eight-inch-ipad-on-the-way/017023), so it seems Amazon may have taken heed of the news.
