Speud has posted some fantastic screenshots of his Vmu Tool app and this news:[br][br] i had to remove the BG music cause it crashed after each loop, ill try to implement it in the next version, so current release wont have any sound. [br][br]im finishing implementing new languages, for those wtho didnt read the latest news it will now be available in french, english, german (thanks Mikey1109), dutch (thanks Captain Skyhawk) and portuguese (thanks WaCk0). [br][br]also there will be some little extra stuffs for the vm file created by the tool to save the options, but i wont tell anything anymore and let you discover it by yourself [br][br]i know this release is late but i always implement new stuffs everytime i think im finished what i can say is you should see a big improvement from the previous release, well i hope so [br][br]See the screenshots in this DCEmulation Topic (http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=46694&start=100)

well the screenshots are not fresh news to me so i dont think that would be good to post them here too, but as dcemu.co.uk is the only place that posted the news about the tools update i will post something here that i didnt post anywhere else :)
here is a hint for one of the extra mysterious stuffs the new version will contain. please if you have a guess dont mention it, anyways i wont tell anything about that anymore until the release :)
oh and its made by WaCk0 (http://www.earthforce.com.br/), hes really talented and helpful 8)

ill post the next fresh news here as well as to other forums, also if people here want to post questions not related to the extra stuffs ill be glad to answer.
oh and if people are willing to translate the texts to german or italian please tell me quickly (and it needs to be translated quite fast since the new version should be released very soon).

double posting again, well looks like nobody posts here except wraggster and me anyway :-/
just to let you know im having troubles with a bug that appeared and i dont remember what i modified in the code to remove it, so ill probably have to use a backup and implement things again, which may delay the release again.
that was just not to post this info only at dcemu.com, it doesnt deserve a main page news to me but thats your site ;)

everything that i planed to implement in this version has now been implemented, i finally decided to add the extra icon editor at the last minute and im almost done.
the next release of vmu tool should be ready at the begining of next week if all is good.

this is looking truly excellent, and very useful... now we just need someone to make a pack of VMU files to use with the app, so we can erase our finished game saves off of our VMUs. Anyone fancy spending a day on Booyaka downloading everything ;)

you can find vm files on my site, though i hope nobody will make a pack from them and share it without asking me before. i bet lauren peace wouldnt like you rip his site neither if he was still working on it, plus the files really belong to the authors who uploaded them.

how will the vmu saves/games etc be organised on the cd out of interest, say a folder with the file and the then a text file with a description of the save in it? i'm not thinking of ripping off anyone's work, it would just be nice to have a cd preloaded with lots of stuff already... for example the halloween/xmas sonic adventure saves etc.

in the previous version you had to place your files in a directory named "vmutool" in the root of your cd/pc.
now you can browse your cd/pc freely to look for your files, it displays directories so you can open them and list the VMI files found (lower and upper case are detected now).
each VM file require a VMI and a VMS file. in the VMI file you have the filename used by the VM to sort the file, the number of blocks, the copy protection flag, the file type, the creation date and time, the filename of the corresponding VMS file without extension, the author and an optionnal 32 chars long description.
you can edit each field using my online VMI editor: http://bswirl.kitsunet.org/vmieditor/
as for the files you can download and save them to your disk or your pc, thats not so hard to do, so everyone is free to get the files they need from various sites and make his own compil.
fackue and captain skyhawk already had the idea of making such a pack but only captain skyhawk asked me and it looks like he understood my point.
i really wouldnt like to see the tool becomes a way to stock the whole content of a site on a disc so you dont have to visit it anymore.
Nice! I had no idea about some of the features!
thanks for your interest :)
im sure youre not the only one in this case, most people know only the extra blocks feature or the filemanager, but it is only a small part of the project.
the hexeditor was already included in the previous version but didnt appear in the menu, i changed that so its more user friendly.
the icon editor is a new feature, i wanted to include it in the previous version but i didnt have the time, and i almost skipped it for this version. but now its totally implemented, you can edit existing icons or make a new one, the lcd screen is refreshed in real time and it doesnt slow down.
the next release should have more features as well, i want to implement dci/dcm support for total compatibility with nexus cards, a gameshark/codebreaker codes manager with bucaneros help, and maybe a VM emulator thanks to dirtysanchez.
oh and this release will also have an extra feature that wasnt mentionned before, i posted a pic that can be a good hint if you check its dimensions and the shape of the design, especially if you read the recent discoveries at consolevision ;)
