Via PSPFanboy (http://www.pspfanboy.com/2006/11/08/psp-sega-genesis-collection-doesnt-ship-alongside-ps2-version/)

Sega recently announced Sega Genesis Collection is now available in stores ... on the PS2. In the press release, Sega said the PSP version will ship later this month.

This really surprises me, because I've been expecting the two versions to ship simultaneously, and even IGN still has the PSP version with a Nov. 7 ship date. However, if we can believe Gamestop, they have the game set at a pre-release date of Nov. 16.

Sega gave no reason for the delay, but did mention the game will be rated "T" for Teen. I guess 15-year-old Genesis games can be too much for those 12-year-old kids out there.

I really wish with collections like these they would offer a PS2/PSP bundle pack for only slightly more then the PS2 game alone. They are already making a killing on these ancient games. Give them to me on both systems.

You're missing the big picture here... both this and Smackdown were due to release alongside their respective console versions... and now all of the sudden.. both handheld versions are due a later release.
Expect some nasty sony witchcraft with the firmware on both releases.

If its one of those affordable $19.99 games, it would be a good buy. But I could not spend $39.99 on this. Its good to keep the retro classics in the spotlight.

Idiots are the ones that download the roms from the net and put them in a dvd (in other word, pirates).
There are few nice people that dump their own games to the computer and later in a dvd, sadly :(

I would use this with DGen if it didn't suck with the sprite artifacts so much. I think I'll get the UMD version and rip it instead. :D

Lol. NOTHING will make me shift from 1.5. the quality of retail PSP games can never be good enough(PS2 lite, in effect), for that.
