'Industry sources' claim Sony is moving away from cell tech, using AMD processor

Sony may be moving away from the cell technology used in the PlayStation 3 it claimed would revolutionize consoles.
"Industry sources" have told Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/5889410/playstation-4-ditching-the-cell-processor-sources-say-which-leads-to-some-wild-theories) that Sony is ditching the tech, which consisted of a "Power Processing Element" joined to eight "Synergistic Processing Elements", designed to work in conjunction with other cell devices sharing processing power.

Cell did not catch on, and some say it did nothing for the PS3 but make it inaccessible to developers.
Forbes (http://www.forbes.com/sites/briancaulfield/2012/02/22/sony-has-new-console-in-the-works-amd-building-graphics/) recently ran an article claiming that Sony would use an AMD graphics processor for the PS4, rather than an Nvidia chip as used on the PS3.
As of now, Sony has not confirmed these reports.

That has to be the most sensible decision Sony could ever make, because Cell processors are just a remnant of Sony's arrogance after their huge and easy Ps1&2 success where they thought they knew better than every other Pc & console manufacturer and that Cell processor was just so difficult and different games got delayed and went over budget and almost always worse than the 360 version, plus they couldn't (Wouldn't) even make a Ps2 emulator when they removed the processor from Ps3.

AMD probably gave them a bargain Sony couldn't turn down. AMD needs it both their Processors and GPU's are doing poorly.
