The game is incredibly awesome. ^_^ I definitely suggest anyone pick it up if they have the chance. If you liked the first one, you won't be disappointed with the second. Thus far, I'm happy with the improvements (except for the stupid credits system. -_- Why do I have to buy weapons?? I imagine that the US government gives our special ops the best equipment out there, NOT making them earn respect to use the super awesome rifle).

It was to give that Counterstrike feel no doubt.

According to a poster on another site: "Works with DevHook emulating 2.71 using 2.xx->2.00" the online features though at the time do not work while emulating 2.71 and it asks for you to update to 2.81.

i am conferming that the story works( and a great story it is) but the online dosn't work. to play online you would need to download it and it said this:

"your psp level is at 2.XX. to play online, you will have to update to 2.81."

thanks for your time

I made a whole topic about this, and nobody could be bothered to answer my question.
The game REQUIRES 2.81, emulating with DevHook and doing 2.XX to 2.00 makes it work on 2.71 and it won't work on 2.71 otherwise, online doesn't work because it requires 2.81 and doing 2.XX to 2.00 won't trick the update.
Isn't there some way to change the version number of the emulated DevHook 2.71 to a higher number, like 2.81, so the game will THINK it's running on a 2.81? All you'd have to do is raise the number to 2.81 or above and the game would be fooled into updating and playing online.
You can raise the version number in 1.5, and it has the same effect. The version will still be 1.5, but games that require above 1.5 will be tricked into running.

I personally really don't like the faux first-person style controls. Syphon Filter did a decent job with it, but I think SOCOM managed to find a good way around it that doesn't require me to waste all the face buttons pretending I have FPS-style controls.

O_o You know, there WAS a time before dual analog sticks. Goldeneye, anyone?
