A patent filing (http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=23&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=google.AS.&OS=AN/google&RS=AN/google) made public last week suggests that Google may be trying to implement a motion-detection interface (http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505124_162-57393595/google-working-on-motion-interface-for-android/), like Microsoft Kinect, for portable electronic gadgets. The patent application is for technology that turns a mobile device's camera into a motion-input system. In other words, it could be goodbye to fingerprints and streaks on the front of your tablet or smartphone. Google could incorporate such a feature into Android in general or keep it as a differentiating advantage for its acquisition of Motorola."
