Before I begin, I freely acknowledge that I'm a retard.
I attempted to downgrade my 2.7.1 PSP to 1.5. Now, I checked the UMD for the IC-003 and it was so small that I didn't see it last night with the lighting, and El Bricko occured. Today, I saw the microscopic IC-003 so my mobo was a TA-082.
Is it possible to take the El Bricko PSP back?

If you have a recipt, then yes you can take it back.

Really? Hope I can dig up the receipt, then... and possibly exchange the PSP for one that doesn't have a TA-082.

You probally will get TA-082 as there are in the shops now but why downgrade to 1.50 beacuse 2.71 supports homebrew as well

Yeah just tell them your psp stopped working and you have no idea what happened to it.;)

Will they exchange it at the store or do I have to contact Sony?

It just depends on the type of person you talk to.
How long ago did you buy it?

If you get lucky they will exchange it but if you get some wiseguy then he will say you have to send it to sony.

November 12th, 2006, 19:41
Well, at least it won't be bricked.

Sony probably knows you bricked it while downgrading anyway..

No homebrew

I'll keep my fingers crossed for 2.71 and a non- TA-082 but they'll probably upgrade it to 2.81 :/

i sincerely doubt that the receptionists know that kind of information.
Basically anyone answering phones at any company is a drone that has programmed responses. And i'm pretty sure the receptionists really could care less because the moneys not coming from their own pockets.

^ Yeah, the receptionist seemed to not care about whether or not I bricked it, and since I still have 7 months of warranty left it's a free-of-charge swap.
Unfortunately, I think I'll probably get the kiss-of-death combo of a 2.81 system and a TA-082 mobo, but it's still better than what I have now, a system with the usefulness of a brick. Except it's a shiny black brick.

if u send it to sony, u might not get i TA-082, because they send u a refurbeshed one, not a new one. i sent in my bricked psp, and they gave me a non ta-082 2.80 psp.
J.D.
November 16th, 2006, 21:32
If I don't get a TA-082 I'll probably still have to wait until someone cracks 2.80 for homebrew :/

November 16th, 2006, 21:50
you could get a TA-082 as well that will be bad luck

I wasn't talking about the receptionist, I meant Sony's workers themselves if they decide to check the PSP.

^ I sincerely doubt they'll take the time- even if they do, the chances are it'll be replaced. Fingers crossed for a non- TA-082!!! That would be a nice christmas present from Sony :D

I really dont understand devhook any more. i thought 2.8 couldn't use the new devhook?
splodger15
November 30th, 2006, 21:47
2.80 users cannot use devhook its only for 1.5 users
2.80= No Devhook
1.5 = Devhook 2.82 emulation

November 30th, 2006, 21:58
then why did psp_iz_my_system say that theres hope for him because theres devhook
splodger15
November 30th, 2006, 22:01
I doubt that will make a devhook for 2.80 users even if they do it will be a long time
