i just read into this rom thing for psp like a day ago, this whole downgrading, firmware, motherboard, etc is confusing. i was just wondering like what are the advantages to downgrading your psp to version 1.5? and does it mess up the way you play your umds? right now i have a version 2.71 but i dont know how to check for the motherboard thingy. all i know is that i got this second hand and it was purchased in US. so can someone plz tell me how to downgrade if it is even worth it ? thanks

Yes it is worth downgrading to 1.5
Bit first you need to check to see if you have a TA-082 mobo

have a look here

You need to check to see that you DO NOT have a TA-082 (or TA-086 for that matter)

after i followed up on splodgers reply, i do not see the image that matches with the TA-082 motherboard. so i am pretty sure i dont have it. what is the next step ?

better off installing 2.71SE-B rather than booting in and out of devhook all the time to play umds
