News from Play Asia:

The only Final Fantasy that was never ported to any other platform—the third installment of the original series—finally appears on Nintendo DS™! Lauded as "legendary" by the Japanese fan base, Final Fantasy III has been reborn, incorporating the latest in portable gaming technology. Using the features of the Nintendo DS™ to their fullest, Final Fantasy III features graphics that have been reworked and remodeled in 3D, while maintaining the mythical Final Fantasy look and feel.

A chance encounter with a sentient crystal propels Luneth from his peaceful village of Ur in search of three others who share his destiny. Together, the four youthful adventurers must vanquish the darkness that threatens to engulf the world.

Today's shipment covers around 75% of all preorders. We are expecting more supply to arrive during next week to clear all remaining orders as well as ship new orders.

Why the hell would you want a PS1 release, even for collector's purposes? I'm glad the DS was chosen as the console for FFIII, much better idea. Although I'm still waiting for mine in the post...:(
