Hawq on IRC just posted a link where some body was selling 3 Playstations not PS3s theres some crafty wording in the auction saying about dont preorder and the 20gb version etc and the auction sold for $900

Thats a tad expensive for 3 PS1 consoles, remember please read the auction very carefully.

Heres the auction link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMESO%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300050305788&rd=1&rd=1)

Anyone been duped on ebay before, tell us via comments

It CLEARLY states multiple times on the page that you are bidding on 3 Playstation units. You don't even need to read it carefully, just read it lol. I guess there is a reason for school after all.

"You're bidding on Sony Playstations, 3 of them.

Bid with confidence."

wow. there are some crafty people in the world, and they will be followed close behind by the stupid people in the world.

I did the moron a favor by reporting it. I also checked what else he bought, and he bought a Wii, and some action figure for something like 324 dollars. I'm sure he's just some kid with rich parents.

the 9126635472 screen name is probably his telephone number.

Social Engineering? Ever seen the movie hackers?
Thats social engineering, this is just dumb haha :D
P.S I love that movie...

It wouldn't be so bad if the eBay police gave a crap :)

Wow. Just wow. At that price, the seller should throw in a gun and some ammo, so the buyer can shoot himself in the face. I don't feel sorry for the guy at all, since, aside from the ever-so-slightly-but-not-really misleading 20GB comment, it was obviously three Playstations.

If not an idiot, the only other type of person to bid so quickly an so high would be the ever-ubiquitous Nigerian scammers. That would be just too ironic.

I remember hearing about someone who won a $150 picture of a NDS. I pm'd the seller about it, and he said he was just trying to teach people a lesson on how to read the small print. I think he was just scared he got caught

And I'd drive to that seller's house and beat the living shit out of him until he learned the lesson of not scamming people.

Want to teach people a lesson, do so in a way that doesn't cost them 800 dollars; because thats just being a blatent scammer.

I reckon if your smart and cunning (and guilt free) enough to scam people. Then why not?
I mean c'mon, there's far too many idiots in the world, might aswell teach em' a thing or too.

I don't like violence and physical robbery or anything like that, I have absolutely no appreciation for those meat heads. But scamming is different, takes some thought and skill to pull off.

I've been scammed, and I seriously don't hate the person (or people) that did it. I kinda shrugged, was a bit annoyed but learn't a lesson and am much wiser.

People just don't like feeling dumb. Get over it.

Sheep are too dumb to care about being fleeced. The guy is not lying in his auction. If I were doing it though, I'd overcharge on shipping. That way, when I am forced to refund the sale, I can specify in my refund policy that I don't refund the shipping. That way, I would still gain a small bit. I don't do that, of course, but that is how I would do it if I did.

The other sellers selling the same thing are all in different locations and all have positive feedback though. Pretty bizarre.

I wonder if the seller shipped him the 3 ps one's just to rub it in? :D

If he payed by a credit card on paypal he wont pay for this. Paypal will try to backcharge the seller, who almost certianly withdrawn the money

Then the buyer should call the CC and they will backcharge paypal so the one stuck with the bill will be ebay.

I really have no idea why ebay allows console launch acutions, it causes alot more trouble then they are worth.

Well it's been how many days and still no feedback left by either party?

Definitely premeditated. You can all go home, kids. Nothing but a fake here.
