i would let that kid resell if i were the winner. Its not right to buy a ps3 for 0.99$ cause either somethings up ie its a fake item or the guy did it wrong. The person who took advantage is a gutless ***.

Oh man, that sucks. I'd just say screw it and just don't send the unit.

Of course if he was smart, he could have the buy it now 99 cents and then put in 700 dollar shipping. (Some auctions do this...) - And he had free shipping... Wow that sucks even more.

But I suppose he wasn't thinking at all when he did this... But if I were him I'd tell the seller to forget it, that he/she isn't getting it for .99 cents.

-Edit-

Actually I don't feel so bad for him; he's got 4 ****ing PS3s...

that breaks ebays rules, and you could force him to sell it at 99 cents and a reduced P&P.

alot of sellers "mark up" the P&P, but you would not get away with $700

I think I would have let it go too. It sais something about the value of his character. (not to sound corny or anything), But ultimately character has more value then any peice of metal and plastic...

*kudos to him!!

Dont get me wrong though, im not stupid, If I had cought the mistake before anyone had bid on it, the auction most certainly would have went down.

I wonder how this will all play out. Will he let it go? I mean, he has 4 PS3s (I assume one of them was the one on the auction). He could never hope to make all of the money back on it if he lets it go; BUT if he does let it go he won't earn a negative feedback and could sell another PS3, just bare-bones. If he were to see 1000 dollars on it (a little hard now with the price decreases; but no impossible) it would at least cover some of the costs for him parting with the first PS3 for .99 cents.

Ouch that's harsh...
In my apartment building somebody has put up a flyer to sell PS3s,it says best offer but the original print which is marked out said $2500

I feel bad for him...hopefully he can fix the situation. But honestly, if I were the buyer, I'd freaking take it.

lmfao, all I can say is good luck to whoever got it...

...he probably thought he was smart putting his PS3 up for auction hoping to make a proffit, he should've checked the item description before he put it up!

what a loser, he should'nt of bought a PS3 if he did'nt want it in the first place!

-minus all the gay smilies-

He doesn't have 1 PS3, he has 4 of them. If you check the Ebay auction page he has a picture of 4 PS3 boxes sitting next to each other. So I kinda don't feel bad for him that this happened (he had more $2400 to burn on gaming? and he managed to sell one for .99 cents? Cry me a river...)

If he had only 1 PS3 I'd feel bad for him. Even though the loss is regrettable, he can still make some damn good money on the other systems, assuming he doesn't screw up again.

mishaps like this in general are not ( but this this extent I suppose it is rare) as umcommon as one would think.

There should really be an escape clause to the entire buyer seller contract from the start anyway
to cover such acidents as this. i suppose though if there where people would just exploit it..

Exactly. And everytime an item fluctuated in price, people would close down the auction to relist it at a more expensive price.

This person should have checked everything, 5 times if necessary and had a friend come over and check it out as well.

But he was probably in a dumb rush, so happy to earn big bucks on PS3 that he didn't check anything to make sure it was right. While this kind of mishap is understandable (equally stupid things happen to everyone), he still should have had someone to check it for him.

You don't have to send the unit .It's an obvious mistake and the buyer would be a complete wanker to expect this guy to part with a PS3 for 99 cents. The seller would get a revoked auction mark against him if he didn't send the unit but it's not like you could go to jail or anything.

I find this highly amusing and I hope he has to part with it. but that is only because I am bitter about having to wait till next year.

Jeez, I feel so bad this guy and typical that the buyer is some wanker with 0 feedback. The buyer does definitely not deserve ANYTHING but a swift slap across the face. Well, if it were me that made that gross mistake I would just dump the seller account and start anew. I hope it works out well for him...

well i cannot say that im sad about him but theres person that i saw on video over the internet this dude is online, waiting for the ps3, well he finally got it. then he takes the ps3 out of the box so nice and shiny, he leaves it there and comes back with a bat smashing it into pieces... now thats pity, let me see if i can get the link from my friend to show it

i would just not let the buyer buy. And the person tried to force me then they are one sick f&*k to try and swindle a kid who waited in line for 40hrs to try and and make a profit... Its a console not a fortune its not going to get u anywhere in life well it might get u robbed and killed...

It's his own fault if he's stupid enough to send it out to the winning buyer.

F9zDark
November 26th, 2006, 15:05
He has 4 of them, so its not like its a big loss for him if he parts with it for a dollar... If I were him, I'd just sell the others ASAP before the price goes down alot more.
