PS1P Pre Release Tonight Hopefully

Just got home from shopping and eaten my Fish and Chips and came on the PC to check my emails and my pal Anonymous Coder has emailed me to say that a pre release of PS1P will be hapening tonight, PS1P is of course the Playstation Emulator for the PSP, this pre release will only support one game as a tester to see reactions etc.

Not sure what game he will choose as that one game but tell us via comments and ill try and get him to make a build for that one game.

And about the one game thing- Different regions have different codes, like SCUS-94162 is FF7 (NTSC Version) and SLPS-00700 is FF7 (Jap version)... Will the test emulator only support one region of that one game?

Surely it won't actually include the game, it will only support it. I don't think anyone is foolish enough to do that unless of course it is just a homebrew game. If it is only homebrew then I don't think this will give much of a feel for the emulators progress really. I think it would be a good idea to support one of the very popular games that also perform really well. I would like to see Ridge Racer, Tactics Ogre or Legend Of Mana.

Oh so I see we are discussing the probable game release. Erm.. I'll say that It will probably be ridge racer. Dont think it will be any FF game because of the multi disks... what I would like to see is either MGS, Vagrant Story or Resident Evil . Still... no point in speculating and hoping... I'll be pleased with whatever. Also.. I freakin hope I have the game on disc whatever it is! Just got my ps1 collection out so lets hope I own the game to back it up :)

You can save at the end of the disc if i remember. So you'll be able to launch the second disc and load your save. But if only one game is available, will it be possible to launch the second disc?

1.) Downoad the trial Alcohol 120%.
2.) Install
3.) Click "Image Making Wizard" in the left.
4.) For Datatype, select Playstation.
5.) Select next, name your file, (make sure it's a .ccd) and rip.

And along with that a game that runs slow an glitchy?
-maybe a fast paced game like R-Type?

That way we can see the power, and the limitations of the emulator it shows basically the light and dark sides of the emu. and the potential the emu can posses after the dynarec, or after extensive tweeking has been impemented. hopefully this is actually released so the public can be satisfied and so many people would stop nagging about this emulator being a fake.

Seriously though, I do think Metal Gear Solid would be an ideal choice of game to test... for me it was one of the games that defined PS1 with its originality and to see this running on a homebrew emulator would be amazing! :thumbup:

I guarantee that this release will just support either Final Fantasy, Ridge Racer, Moto GP or Duke Nukem... cause these are like the only videos weve seen so far of any games running on this emu. I hope its not Final fantasy though cause I dont think this is a game that will really showcase what the emu can do.

i think any news is good news... i just think rather than these weekly/ daily/ hourly updates about the emulator which we all now know is very much in progress. we should be given a definitive release date. cos in the end all this hype has become very very tiring, and before long people are going to tire of visiting psp news.

I feel the same way. I was really excited in early August when I heard that Yoshihiro was going to release his emulator at the beginning of September and I thought it would be the best homebrew ever. Then my fire kind of died down but I am still excited just not as much as before.

I've kinda lost interest in the PS1 and N64 emulators. I was kinda excited when they were first announced but now I just don't care anymore. If they come out fine if they don't fine I have enough actual PSP games to do me for a long time. Besides when and if they do come out they will not be playable for awhile yet. I know that an N64 emu has been released but it is nowhere near playable and does not even have sound and we haven't heard from the developer in a couple of months. So I have lost hope on it I have enough emulators to play.
