BEWARE!
While it says it plays any format in the readme, it seems that in reality, it seldom plays ISO's. When I convert ISO's to BIN's MOST games work!
.img files are also supported.. I tred vagrant story in that format and in loaded (to a certain point)

That would be my crappy vid camera, it runs faster when playing... It records at 15 fps, so OF COURSE it would seem jittery... The purpose of my videos isn't to show speed, it's to show that it loads and how long it takes to be playable
No it doesn't run any faster than that. The fact that your camera only records 15 fps is irrelevant because the game only runs at about 5 or 6 frames per second in the emulator. It really annoys me when people post obviously fake information like Crash 2 or Final Fantasy VII are running full speed and get everyone's hopes up for no reason.

Chrono Trigger works @ playable speed. After you enter your name and the intro w/the birds begin, there is a graphic issue, the water is all messed up but you could see the birds clearly. Oh yeah, by the way its been like 5 minutes and i finally passed the intro. CPU is set to 850%. If you wanna play this game I suggest SNESX_TYL the latest version and the Chrono Trigger rom.
I'm in game right now and its pretty damn slow w/Graphics glitch, the room is black but you could see the bed, windows, desk, some walls and stairs

Try changing the cpu speed. I didn't change the cpu clock in the emulator, so it didn't run at the speeds I reported, and I couldn't change it, because I can't exactly use the button combination when holding a cell phone... Also, I used a rip so of course speeds will be different...

This list isn't very consistent. I haven't gotten either Mega Man Legends or Castlevania-SOTN to work in ISO format. I do get FF9 disk one to work though it crashes when trying to enter a battle.
FF8 Never loads, but never crashes - ISO
Chrono Cross loads up slowly - stops loading after you hit the start button at the title screen - ISO
UmJammer Lammy doesn't load, doesn't crash. - ISO
BTW: If a game asks you about the vibration feature, rumble, whatever I suggest you select off, it may save you some FPS or from crashing. - ISO

The CPU settings make very little difference as far as performance goes. In fact if you set it too high then the emulator actually slows down. I don't know if you get a kick out of lying about the game's framerate or if you're so clueless that you can't tell the difference between 5 and 25 frames per second, but if you want I can probably record the game in ePSXe running at different speeds using fraps so you can see the difference.

I'm wondering if the method of launching this emu is affecting compatibility. I am a normal 2.71 user with dark_alex's henc homebrew enabler, devhooking to 1.50 to run this emu and here are my results.
Steel Reign - Working Slowly (NTSC-U)
Tales of Destiny - Gets to the Namco logo and then the psps shuts off (NTSC-U)
Alundra - works slow, but locks up randomly in game, sometimes shuts the psp off, sometimes not. (NTSC-U)
Torneko the Last Hope - Freezes at the emulator's Now loading game screen. (NTSC-U)
Wild Arms 2 - Freezes at the emulator's Now loading game screen. (NTSC-U)
Legend of Legaia - Psp shuts down right after the emulator's now loading game screen. (NTSC-U)
However, the list states that Wild Arms 2 works and Alundra as well. What fw are you all using? 2.71SE or whatever it is called?
EDIT: it may also have to do with the fact that I am compressing my isos, but Tales of Destiny behaves the same way if I have it compressed or not. This may be the reason my tests vary though.

Very good point. Anyone up for creating a compatibilty list website so visitors can post or confirm which games work or dont. Also such important info like speed rating, region, and if a game does not work, why/where does it fail (this would be great down the road, for AC to use to make games playable).
I got a domain, experience webdesigning, minimal coding and a GFX artist. PM me if interested.
I know someone threw one together in PHP but I cant find that comment now. He had a great start, ugly ass gfx though, and needed more details posted.

I'm using 2.71 SE-C. It's all right but not too much better than 2.71 SE-B''. I love it for the ability to load backups on the XMB and be able to load homebrew. You should try it out if you can downgrad unless you have a TOa82 or w/e. 2.71 SE-(XXX)>1.50.

It was originally a 1.50 psp I got for Christmas last year so it's not a Ta-82, however I am worried I will brick my psp downgrading. Yeah I know that if you do everything right the chances of bricking are really low, but still, I'd be very pissed if I ended up with a dead Psp and it really isn't too bad launching homebrew the way I do it now. It's inconvient, but at least it works.

Probably the most accurate test is having a PSP with 1.50 (not emulated!) and a personal rip of a game that is confirmed to work in at least one other emulator to confirm the rip was a success.

You're probably right, although I'll bet that compressing the image creates a multitude of compatibility problems in itself at this stage. Even so, this emulator is truly is amazing considering it's just one person coding it in his free time and this is just an early alpha. I hope to do something like this (maybe not to this extent) someday; I am a sophomore in college studying Computer Science and I like to code, but I have a lot to learn and a long ways to go. Well enough of this off topic chat, I will try some more games uncompressed and if I am still having problems I may just give it a rest until the next version.
About to test tomb raider 2.

Yeah, the closest I've gotten when using compression, now that I think about it, was the Namco logo in Tales of Destiny. I think the support for compressed isos needs a lot of work, but I'm sure AC is up to the challenge.

Do we know what format is best? I read a lot of problems using *.iso files. But has anyone verified that other versions are running smoother, or work for those that don't?
If we can verify this, then I think it would be easier to compile a better compatibility list. I gues the best way is when someone tests a game, convert it to each different format and find which is best. It'll be a whole lot of work, but what do you all think?

Compressed isos can definetly contribute to lag as we see with PSP games being ISO verse CSO. But bin vs iso wont be a factor. If its compressed than yeah.

All you guys testing using z and znx formats, im pretty sure this is not working properly. Try testing again with out compression.

Uncompressed direct rip tested. CD-Audio tracks not removed (I would like advice on how).
Also tested: clocked to 333 MHz using iRShell - Successful
Notes: Cut scenes play well; no sound (expected); slow/chugs; some highlight/cursor selections are not visible making data entry and menu navigation a chore (but possible with patience and good memory); button presses are inconsistently recorded unless pressed firmly without lingering; minor graphical glitches (like small black lines/dashes in certain places, overlays inconsistent, etc).
Overall, a playable game! (for the first time).

I know Castlevania SoTN & Ridge Racer have already been tested as a working games, but I just felt like posting some screenshots of my all time favorite PSX game. XP...Anyways, it's really a bitch to wait for the glitchy Konami intro to pass(15 to 20 minutes) then the game's graphics look ok(but it's still way to slow to be playable) but I also noticed the text in conversations is messy. Anyways, enjoy the screens...took em with IRshell.I tried ripping the videos and music from my full SoTN.img file,to see if I could get to the title screen from the start without the 20 minute glitch wait, but it's a no go...Has anybody been able to achieve this, with this game? I own the USA version, from which I made the .img file. Needles to say...The Ridge Racer rip works fine, although it did freeze on me once while racing...Both games Save to the emulated Memory Stick fine...Am I the only one encountering problems with SaveStates? It crashes my PSP everytime I try to do it, leaving a 0kb file in my memory stick. The loading function for the savestates doesn't work either...Oh well, it is an alpha emulator...but at least works better than the other emulator that's going around. I look forward to your updates, AC. Keep up the brilliant, inspiring work.

You clearly didn't see my post on the previous page...SoTN(USA) does work...you just have to be patient and endure the "garble" for 20 minutes...then, the title screen will come up. Just run it, and go grab a bag of Tostitos while your PSP sits there and does all the work. My guess is that "garble" is actually the short Konami logo movie...you know, erupting out of the dirt and stuff...the emulator doesn't quite play all PSone game movies, yet.
BTW....Resident Evil Director's Cut - Dual Shock Edition [NTSC](USA).img will load the "VIOLENCE & GORE WARNING" screen, but it'll just stay frozen there forever.

Long thread...
Legend of Mana - works fine. Loads, saves, plays video. Optimal CPU ~700%. 10 FPS.
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile - halts on video. You can get to the game if you'll press Start button constantly on loadings =) Doesn't see memory card. Optimal CPU ~2700%. ~20FPS.
Halts after some time ingame (so not playable)
Rhapsody (Marl Kingdom) - i've got one with strange loader. Halts after selecting PAL/NTSC.

V-Rally: turns off while loading
Alien Ressurection: Works Great, I'd say it's about 10-20 fps depending how big the room is. Movies all work. It seems to work a bit smoother if you turn down the cpu cycles to 400%.
Red-Alert Allies disk: Freezes on the Allied logo, could well be a bad rip the disk is ****ed. Wraggy posted some screens of Red alert counterstrike a few months back so I'm guessing it should work.

First of all, great work on the emulator.
That being said, since when did FF7 (US version) ever "work"?
It either crashes at the opening movie or at the movie sequence after the first boss, or I'm assuming every other movie sequence. As long as the movies aren't ripped out, FF7 will never "work" on this release, so enough with the rushed, uninformed statements saying otherwise.
On that note, has anyone actually been able to rip a "workable" FF7? I'm using MagicIso and ust wondering exactly which files to "rip" out. I've tried deleting the "Movies" folder but it still seems to crash at the movie sequences. I'm thinking of just creating dummy files for each file in that folder and replacing them. Anyone else have any luck?

"WORKS" simply means that you can get in-game status..."playable"?...sure, If you don't mind life passing you by.:p Some games do get up to decent speed, but then again there's not many popular ones that do...Just wait till the next release.

Lunar Silver Star Story works, but you have to skip the intro movie. My guess is there is no MDEC support or very limited MDEC emulation. When you are in game it runs very slow to even be playable. It is nice to see Lunar running on the psp though. Anyways, it is nice to see games loading for a first release, but I assumed this was a very fast emulator from all the hype that was being talked about it. I remember Wraggster saying it was pretty much fullspeed on command and conquer.

Strider 2: was looking fantastic at first. It boots up, plays all the intros and animations. You press start to go in game and all is fine... but once the game starts it looks fine but your character wont move (even though his animation is working well).
I've got high hopes that this game might actually be playable next time round! ...fingers crossed! :)

Super Pang Collection: the game boots up, all menus work. Works very well in game, although just a little bit slow (I only tested Pomping World from the ISO though). :)

I think it supports those. You need to put in the PS1P folder along with the bios. I haven't used this emulator in quite a while, however, but I think you need a "Roms" or "Rom" folder.
