Infantile Paralysiser (http://mdxonline.dyndns.org/archives/nds/) have posted a new release of his image viewer for the Nintendo DS:

The user interface was changed a little.
Addition of English manual by my poor translation.
'PNG image with alpha channel' can be correctly converted.
Corresponded to EZ4/DSLink. I wish to express my deep gratitude to Rudolph.
'The cartridge of enhancing the memory of DS browser' can be used for the cache memory.
Imgview verifies the disk writing. Auto-retries when abnormality is detected.

So, are the .IPK files smaller yet or does it now support plain JPEGs and BMPs? I liked the earlier releases but the huge files the thing put out was ridiculous. It tripled the file size!

Have you tried Comic Book DS (http://gnese.free.fr/NDS/ComicBookDS/?language=en) yet? I'd hardly call it "crappy and terrible" aside from the unfortunate reliance upon a GBA-like filesystem. The next release is planned to have FAT support though, which looks very interesting.
