Ubisoft (http://www.edge-online.com/filter/all/tags/234) has announced Silent Hunter Online, a free-to-play, browser-based game in its submarine combat series.
The game, which is soon to enter closed beta, is in development at Düsseldorf-based Ubisoft Blue Byte, the studio behind The Settlersand publisher of the Anno series. Austrian studio Sproing is also involved.
Built in Flash, Silent Hunter Online boasts a dynamic campaign in which, Ubisoft says, "individual successes impact other players." For the first time in the series, the entire campaign will be playable in co-op.
