Korean electronics giant LG has announced that it will not be making any further Windows Phone 7 handsets.
It came to the decision having claimed that “the total unit of Windows Phone sold in the global market is not a meaningful figure”.
Instead the company will press ahead with its future plans for Android handsets, although WPCentral (http://www.wpcentral.com/lg-focusing-android-no-new-windows-phone-planned) does add that LG intends to “continue research and development efforts” on Microsoft’s format.
Samsung, HTC and key Microsoft partner Nokia remain as the main WP7 partners pushing forwards.
