Flashing can be dangerous, so a lot of people seem to be afraid of using other gameboots than the original (and boring) Sony one.
But now Birdman has discovered a way to load the gameboot frëm your memory stick instead of flash, as long as you have 2.71 SE. This will also save space on your flash.
All you need is a 2.71 firmware dump (which you must make yourself using PBP unpacker and PSARdumper) and a hex editor (for instance XVI32 (http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm)).
Get a decrypted 2.71 dump and a hex editor
With your hex editor look in vsh/module/opening_plugin of the decrypted dump
Press ctrl+f and find gameboot.pmf
Then change "flash0:/vsh/resource/gamboot.pmf" to "ms0:/PSP/SYSTEM/gameboot.pmf"
Start from the F in flash0:/ and rewrite the whole line
Use filer to flash modded opening_plugin to flash0:/vsh/nodle
Even if you don't have a memory stick inserted or if it is another one, the game will still load with the old one.
