Addition of too many playable plays (104...) to quote them

Optimization of the management of the sprites and tiles (direct access to the memory)

Woo, you rock Alek!

You are NOW my Fave coder.

I'd like to see savestates, though.

Will this only run the OLDER games, or might Namco Museums work later?

When i start it, it just says "Search for FAT drivers..."

The Hombrew Hunter
December 3rd, 2006, 20:55
And then it says "No game found!"

So, nevermind, I retract the last statement.

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work with the Max Media Dock, even when using GBFS. :(

Very strange pb for the Max Media ...
Colecods works fine on it and I use the same fatlib.
Did you create a MARCADS directory in the root directory of your max media ?

ThePlayer

The way a max media dock looks is like this , there are some folders , audio - games - video , so yes I had , audio - games - video - marcads , then I had the files all in one marcads folder.

I tried it without changing anything in the folder , other than adding the games in with the marcads.nds file , I also tried using a ROMs folder like mame.

I even left in the _V30 in the folder name.
And without it.

It just doesn't work.

Maybe you should just let people load the game instead of having the program search for it.

You could also put in a test ".zip" file to prove to a user the program can see the file if it is correctly packaged.

As a new user , I couldn't tell if it was my .zip file or your program , as to why it couldn't be found.

But now I believe it just doesn't work for max media.

humm ... the problem is that roms files are copyrigthed so i can't give one with marcads ... :(
I think marcads works on max media because it says you that it can't find games , so the init is ok.
are you sure than your zipped files are ok as it is explain in gamelist.txt ?

FANTASTIC!!!
Thanks for the new release.... A really good step FFWD !!!

I'v try with M3/cf

bugs:

AMIDAR is signed playable, but have a big trouble...
the enemies going false road...sometime out of the screen , at the bonus screen...the monkey going false ad random mode...and sometime or ever...in looping in the midle and you can't go out (Off the DS or ESC to menu')

PINBALL (set1-2) many sprites non compare , also the comands-rachette...unplayable.

PONPOKO....vertical in double screen ?!?

hopes:

scrool the list game FAST (10xtimes) with Left & right buttons

a few different VIDEOMODE , like a resize one (for play in one screen) because the resolution now is REAL and Beatiful , but for play is little bad..in many games you can't see the action around you...

I hope many anothers OLD and GOOD games can be insert... ( TUTANKHAM !!!!!!) soon!!

more sound add....

=)

Thanks for your reply jimiz
I have also noticed the same problems for amidar.
For pinball, it is normal, the sprites are not emulated yet.
For pompoko, the screen was too big to fit on one screen, so, I flip it vertically.
For all the games, I don't know how can i resize them becauses games like pacman are too big to fit only in one screen. I will try to do something else like copying a small portion of the upper screen to the lower screen, i will make a special version with this test soon.

TUTANKHAM (Z80)

Can be emulated yet ? wh't d' you think?

ps... MARCADS have nothing about MAME src...but of another Src ? (like sparcade or another coinop emulator) , or just is a src write by self ? meaby more people can help you to do somethnig more for this SUPER emu , not?! =)

alekmaul
December 14th, 2006, 12:43
MarcaDS is my own emulator, nothing to do with Mame src and others emus. At the beginning of it, i took a look at Vantage source code but I didn't used it. The only thing that is like mame, it is the informations about the games (I/O, memory mapping, roms, and so on).
and ... tutankham used a 6809 as main CPU, not a Z80 (only for sound)
sorry for you http://www.mameworld.net/maws/romset/tutankhm

This looks very nice... I have the Max Media Launcher and a GBA flash cart.

I ran makearcads.bat, and it generated the .pme file.

I renamed the .pme file to a .ds.gba file, and put it on my flash cart.

It boots up, I press A to skip the splash, and then I get the menu screen with "Searching for fat drivers..." Nothing else.

I had an uncompressed zip "dkong.zip" in the GBFS folder and in the regular folder.

Why does this not work? Is this not for flash carts at all?

alekmaul
December 18th, 2006, 12:46
Well, for the maxmedia launcher, you don't have to use makearcads.bat.
Just put the marcads.nds in a MARCADS directory in the root directory of your maxmedia, and put roms in zip format with no compression (0%).

Hi Alek, First you have done again a great work with your MarcaDS.
I want tell you there is a little misstake in your Marca Gamelist.
Battle of Atlantis (set1) includet the same files as:Battle of Atlantis (set2).
This 2 Games cant have the same name "atlantis.zip", in the same Folder. Battle of Atlantis (set2) Name is atlants2.zip and content romfiles from Nr.1 to Nr.10.
I have play Phoenix all versions from your emu and it is again and again the same problem.
Third wave birds are not to see.
The same in wave 4. In the last wave is no Alien Mothership to see.
Mr Goemon mrgoemon.zip hang up at start and in the boot menu stand that file 12c is bad. I have checked different Roms from different sites but again hang up with the this message bad 12c.
At last Le Bagnard (set 2) start with black screen, is not hang of because is possible go back to the menu.
Can you change something in your emu that the games worked.
I hope you can but more stuff (Games) to your emu, in near future. I love your MarcaDS emu.

hello anónimo;)
thanks for your reply and tests ...
that's strange for mr goemons and others ... I will take a look at that.
Also, the next version will have a crc checker for each file, so it will be easer to have a corect set
regards
alek

Hi, alek it is not a crc error in Mr Goemon.
i think it is a wrong file for the emu (621d02.12c). In Mame works.

Is it time consuming to add DLDI support to your emulators? That would be awesome if you could. :)
Either way nice work.

March 2nd, 2007, 09:31
Yes, I will do that ... but I need time, sorry ...
I have a job which take lot's of time and I also release DSMasterPlus and my new toturial about making an emulator this week, so i can't do more for now ;) ...

Don't be sorry, I'm not criticizing and hope I didn't come across as that way. I was just asking a question. ;)
It's great to hear your working on it though. I'm just happy there hard working coders for the DS who take time out of thier life to do these great things. I'm not rushing anything. :)
thank you

My goal is to make colecoDS compatible with last devkit and dldi first... I think I will release it next week :)
After, I will work again on MarcaDS ...
The goal is to make it compatible with last devkit (very easy) and to add new games (more complicated ^^).
Also, these emulators will have an unified interface, like DSMasterPlus :)

Hey Alek.
First off, thanks for making this. I am a huge Donkey Kong fan and I haven't been able to get my fix on the DS yet.
But onto my question: When I start up the Donkey Kong ROM (ZIPped as instructed) it comes up with the error: C-Set-G.Bin not found.
Could you explain what this means and some possible ways to get around this?
Thanks.

I find testing your roms using MAME will tell you exactly what files are missing when you audit your roms. You may need to combine some 'sets' to gather all the .bin files together. This is the case for many of the rom sets I have found. Just check for the files in other donkey kong sets.

No, it's all in the readme and gamelist file.

if yes can i play mortal kombat games^^
See above

and were can i find the games???

Probably using the 'internets' but that would be illegal! :)
