i would bid on this in a heartbeat but this is the wrong time of year to be buying - which sucks.
i think it woulda been better to seperate them - perhaps into lots? i say this because i collect them myself but i dont need that much really. in fact i only saw a couple of things there that i would buy - which again sucks because i lack money. :( ahh well someone will be having a very nice chrimbo indeed.

This guy isn't a collector, his probably someone that owns a shop and needs his old stock gone.

This little lot has already been on ebay before.. earlier this year. GP32.co.uk won the auction back then (they said so in a newsletter they sent to me).. Seems as though they're selling part of it on; i remember the original collection being even more massive.. sold for several thousand dollars. ($9000 if my memory serves me right)..

This isn't a collection, this is shop inventory. The worlds largest auction for video game consoles and games was sold a few months back. I don't know who remembers it here, but it had a buy it now for something like 50000 iirc. There were full sets of games for saturn, dreamcast, ps2, xbox, and gc as well as hundreds of carts and maybe 20 or so (at least) of every major console.

i really want this, but it will cost sooo much.

It's the GP2X team that's selling this stuff. If anyone would be placed to have a huge random collection of retro consoles, I imagine it would be them.

Whoever is selling it is not exactly the smartest. Most Ebayers make profit on the shipping rates (charging a few bucks more for shipping than they pay). Breaking this collection into smaller units and SHIPPING them will see a far more significant profit than having it be pickup only. Plus having to ship it allows for many more customers to bid on the smaller lots, thus increasing the profitability.

But much of the stuff is relatively undesireable, if not for the quantity. As well as the fact that the work : profit ratio between the two goes in favor of this method. Also, the fact that something like this will generate publicity is quite benefitial to it.

I chatted with the lad that owns all this stuff. As I used to live near him. He has had this stock for a while and has been meaning to sell it since he changed to only selling the GP2X.

Too bad that the $68 dollars was right... As we was asking for the conversion of Euros to U.S. Dollars, not GBP to U.S. Dollars. You must have been confused..
