Blue Dragon is being developed by Artoon , headed by Final Fantasy series originator Hironobu Sakaguchi. The game features art from Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball.

Aside from who is making it, I don't see what the fuss is about. The characters all look like plastic toys, and those little green talking monsters were all the exact same character model. Heck, even the environments weren't anything spectacular.
I don't know if that video showed the battle system, I stopped about three minutes in (crazy choppy framerate hurt my head), but here is hoping that they add more substance (and completely remove that damn screaming kid from the beginning).
