Minna no Golf-jou (SCEI, 2007) Minna no Golf-jou is a spin-off of SCEI's popular Hot Shots Golf series, and it functions as a map utility for real golf courses. The software includes data of all golf courses in domestic Japan and lets the golfer check out everything from his distance to obstacles, as wells as the greens. The software can also be used as a management tool for keeping track of score data.

Note the relative size of the GPS unit compared with the PSP itself.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (Konami Digital Entertainment, December 2006) Metal Gear Solid's new PSP action adventure game will make use of the GPS receiver to search for and collect new characters that can be recruited as soldiers.

Planetarium Creator Ohira Takayuki Kanshuu: Home Star Portable (Sega, October 2006) Sega's constellation navigator is coming out two months before Sony's GPS receiver, but it's going to have support for the peripheral. Using the GPS receiver, players can acquire their current location and display the exact stars that they should be seeing up in the sky.

Navigation Soft (Edia, December 2006) This standard car-navigation software features all the roadmaps in Japan. Aside from searching for car and walking routes, the software can also be used as a directory to search for nearby shops and other facilities. The maps and database can be updated using the PSP's network capabilities.

Play Asia have the GPS Receiver (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-2pz-71-bh-49-en-84-j-70-1mij.html) in stock now.

Finally if you buy the GPS Receiver then check out Deniska`s Map this Release (http://deniska.dcemu.co.uk) which has maps from Citys in different parts of the World.

I was considering getting this for MGS: PO, but I totally forgot about Deniska's work! Thanks Wraggster, That makes getting one worth it even more... It will be interesting to see what becomes of this peripheral and the Chotto Shotto combined with homebrew.

Well the magic question is will this work in conjunction with DevHook 0.51 emulating 3.01 or 3.02 firmware?

If anyone gets their hands on this and can test this with Metal Gear Solid: PO & DevHook, I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in the results.

I may purchase this if it can work with DevHook 0.51.

I see no reason why it shouldn't; Sony also implemented the PRXs responsible for the camera and GPS in 2.80. In theory it should already work.

Added:

Deniska's solution is quite good though; the GPS can't mount on top (without the aid of tape or some fancy plastic work) but at least its black so it semi-matches the PSP's color scheme; really, why on earth did Sony opt to make the PSP accessories silver is beyond me... Are they that ****ing retarded?

You're a boyscout?! Hahahaha, you're such a loser, hahaha! No just kidding. I'm not sure if you were joking or not but I actually am a boyscout.

Edit: Hey, boyscouts popping up left and right, haha, glad to know I'm not the only one. I'm pretty sure I'm the only Mormon on here though, haha.

Wouldn't be much of a GPS if it didn't work in multiple places... but Sony is an ass about imported stuff. Makes me wonder whether or not I should buy one.

I bought one and without any map software it does absolutly nothing. The mapthis homebrew (which is very cool)uses a make shift serial port and this goes into the usb port so mapthis doesnt even know its there.I was wondering if there is some way to recompile mapthis so it recieves data from the usb port
