A patent filed by Nintendo in October of last year has just surfaced (http://appft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=7&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=nintendo&OS=nintendo&RS=nintendo) online, suggesting a neat feature for the Wii U (http://www.joystiq.com/wii-u/). The patent outlines a feature in which the player can use the Wiimote to grab things from the television and transport them over to the Wii U tablet (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/07/hands-on-with-the-wii-u-controller/).

In the example provided, the player is under attack from a UFO and uses the Wiimote to move a character from the TV to the safety of the tablet. Sounds like an interesting feature, though we're not looking forward to taking a bath in radioactive liquid so we can grow that extra arm to use all this stuff.
