15 per cent of all programme requests come from phones and tablets.
The Beeb's on-demand streaming service – BBC iPlayer – experienced a 94 per cent year-on-year increase via mobile phones and tablets in April 2012, while 15 per cent of all views came from the devices in the same month.
This has enabled iPlayer to become UK's top free iPad app of all time, while total programme requests average at approximately 190 million per month, up 24 per cent on 2011.
Connected devices – Smart TVs, game consoles, blu-ray players – are also pulling their weight, with use rising by 57 per cent year-on-year, accounting for 11 per cent of requests in April.
