Right? If so, Mariomaker Shigeru Miyamoto (http://www.engadget.com/tag/ShigeruMiyamoto/) may be breaking that streak. He tells IGN that he's "satisfied" with the 3DS' (http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/21/nintendo-3ds-review/)hardware and that current thought at Nintendo is swinging towards a true replacement. That puts at least a momentary damper on Nikkei's claims of an extra-large 3DS (http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/04/nintendo-may-have-supersized-3ds-with-4-3-inch-screen-at-e3/) coming soon, but it's good news for gamers used to waiting several years between major platform generations. With Nintendo taking a bruising (http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/26/nintendo-releases-quarterly-earnings-report-61-percent-drop-in/) from smartphones and tablets, new hardware likely can't come quickly enough.
