Hi,

My friend bought a PSP, and it has firmware 2.60. How would we get it to 2.71se-B? Because after that we can have homebrew on it.

After we can get homebrew on it, we want o play Metal Slug 2 player over wifi? I heard theres a neogeo emulator that does that now. Can someone direct us please?

You need to check if you have a TA-082 motherboard

You can check HERE (http://www.modchipstore.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=164)

The motherboard isn't a TA-082.

Then you can either downgrade to 1.5 or 2.71 se-c

No you have to update to 2.71 to use se-c or you can downgrade to 1.5

Sorry, but wrong. You need to be on 1.5 to install 2.71SE. Try not to post without knowing the answers, it's confusing to people. Best bet is to upgrade to 2.71 then downgrade to 1.5 then up to SE-C.

A matter of oppinion. I think 2.71SE is better, you don't lose any 1.5 features by upgrading to it. Don't knock it until you have tried it :p I recommend it for newbies to the PSP scene.

Ok pretty much, is this safe do you reckon?

I downloaded th 2.71 update EBOOT off of qj.net
http://dl.qj.net/Firmware-2.71-Firmwares-PSP/pg/12/fid/8046/catid/163
That's safe right? =P So I install that ...

Then after I have the "Dark Alex downdater" *Downgrader2.71FULL.exe) which starts up with a graphic and kind of rock music. It's a picture and sound one. Step by step thing. Is that safe?

Then I have the SE-B install file (51mb). It's the full one that's a full install thingo, nothing manual.

Sound good to you?

Yeah B you got it. Upgrade to 2.71. Than use the downgrader to go from 2.71 to 1.50. Once you're at 1.50, install Devhook 51 + 3.01(emulated) if you wanna be able to play the latest PSP games. Feel free to PM me if you need help and we can hook up via IM and ill help ya through it. If you want 2.71SEC, me I personally see no need for it, so I cant help you with that. Good luck bro.
