"It's not one-of-a-kind, but it's pretty darn close. Sotheby's this week auctioned off a rare, working Apple 1 computer for $374,500 (http://www.networkworld.com/community/blog/rare-operating-apple-1-rakes-374500-sotheby%E2%80%99s-auction) to an unnamed bidder. The price was more than double the expected price listed on the Sotheby's web site. Sotheby's notes about the Apple 1 (http://www.sothebys.com/en/catalogues/ecatalogue.html/2012/books-manuscripts-n08864#/r=/en/ecat.fhtml.N08864.html+r.m=/en/ecat.lot.N08864.html/57/) say it is one of six thought-to-be-operational boxes and one of about 50 known to exist (http://applemuseum.bott.org/sections/computers/a1.html)."
